Distracted !!!!

Hello to all you 14.1 players.
Has this ever happened to you? I go to my local room yesterday and there is no one there that i play with so i get a table and start hitting balls. After i warm up a bit i set up a break shot and run the rack get another break shot run the rack and get a break shot and break the rack open and now i'm feeling good about running some balls and i've got 4 balls left in the 3rd rack and 10 feet away is the door to the outside patio and just as i start my final stroke a guy opens the door and between the sudden bright light and this yahoo yelling his friends name out i rattle the shot:mad:
 
Yes. The thing is I blame myself. I should have either been in focus or stood up and started over.
When we get a new waitress where I play and they come up to me while I'm down at the table I will as kindly as I can explain when they can or can not ask me ot the other players if we want a drink. Some understand while others become frightened and avoid me. Not my intent.
The other side of the coin what does one do playing in a packed house and the music is blaring loud? Focus and shut it out with exceptions, right?

LOL! I guess the plus side of this is that you were not gambling or in a tournament. I know it still sucks though.
 
Ya see right there, that is the end p roduct of what alot of older school players are faced with. coming from an era where the pool room was like a church or a library for that manner.

I myself come from of an era at a pool room where the jukebox or DJ stand was always kicking loud music and what not. And because of that i have learned to tune out alot of outside interferances.

I Guess i should consider myself lucky that i do have that ability under my belt....

Sorry to hear that your run had to end by no fault of your own !
