Morning friends,
I recieved my Pat Diveney jump break cue yesterday and all I can say is WOW! I asked Pat to build the cue for me at a touch less than 18.5 oz and he absolutly nailed it. Pat uses a G-10 furrule/tip combo. IMHO it is leaps and bounds better than phenolic. Pat used radial pins in both sections of the cue therefore I can use the butt and forearm with the shaft. He also pre tapped the butt so I can add & remove weight when I so desire. I broke around 25 racks with it last night with not one miscue. The G-10 seems to hold chalk much better than any other non leather tip I have ever tried. I pocketed a ball or two consistantly and the spreads were very good every time. I noticed that when I didn't try to crush the rack my results were just as good. How does this thing jump? Like a Kangaroo on speed! The forearm material on the cue is a diffrent wood than the Butt. I am not sure of the forearm wood but it is noticably lighter than the butt material. The cue ball seems to spring off of the G-10. I had no problem jumping balls as close as 5 inches apart when the cue is seperated, and table legnth jumps have become effortless when the cue is full legnth. I also noticed that I had some cue ball control with the G-10 when jumping, and this is a great thing. I just wanted to share my findings with you all as you all have done for me on this great forum. This cue will become a priceless addition to improving my game.
Pat if you are out there, Thanks A Million!
