This probably isn't a very original idea, and I think it's essentially the idea behind some products that are out there. But what I did is take two binders (the kind that hold looseleaf paper, with hard covers) and stood them up to create an opening between them for the cue. You could also use hardcover books.
I wanted something similar to the old coke bottle idea, but this way you can do a full pendulum stroke since there is no constraint on the up/down motion. You can adjust the opening as thin as you want to prevent side-to-side motion.
Just something I can easily do at home to help keep those mechanics in check, even if only for a minute.
