Shit it to a cue maker

Putting on a linen wrap especially can be very touchy. You have to actually drill into the hand and tap in the initial thread. From there, it has to be run on a lathe at slow speed so that the Wrap can be pulled tight. The Handle has to be covered in glue, which also means when the wrap is pulled tight on the lathe, the glue that seeps through the pores has to be wiped off right away.

Another thing, if the wrap you have is a thicker size, than your new wrap, you won't be able to make it flush to the finish of the cue, you'd have to layer some tape on the handle so as to raise up the linen a bit. If you have the equipment then by all means, but i'd seriously consider getting involved with either a cue maker near by or a service that will take cues and do what you want then send them back toyou.

Hope this helps. Good Luck

I wouldn't attempt this job yourself if you don't have the proper equipment (lathe, linen press, and the knowledge).

Maybe you can contact someone and ship your cue to them and have the job done by a pro. There are many people on this forum who can wrap your cue for you for a reasonable price. Here are 2 good cue repair men to contact:

If you don't mind messing up a few times (read: inexpensive cue to test your skills on), give it a go. If you want it done perfectly - send it to Joe Blackburn or Jacoby Custom Cues. I've used both, and both do EXCELLENT linen wraps. If you can find Joe in person (one of the BIG tourneys in Vegas, or the DCC, etc.), watch him....great guy, and cue repair MASTER!!

Where do you live?
You can do it yourself with patience.
Do you have any equipment?

Altho still tricky, you might consider replacing your wrap with leather. I have an aluminum template for sale and will give you a link to a leather wraping lesson online. Don't get me wrong, its still difficult without an actual jig but people do it with just a template.

if you don't have a lathe, you will have a hard time. If you do have a lathe, go for it. Any cue maker can do this for cheap. You just gotta find someone with the same kind of linen you want.

You can also get some one cue spools from atlas, or prather.

It's really not that difficult, but making it smooth after you put it on needs some high spinning action and a special technique.

thank you all for the input.

to answer few questions i dont have a lathe, i do have an inexpensive cue im willing to experiment with.
