Hey all! Just watched again Django played last night at one side. This guy kicks the ball lights out. He played against Kiamco race to 27 10 ball. I have some pictures and videos to share.

Even though it was monday last night, the place was full of champion players. Reyes and Alcano were playing 15 ball rotation, you'll see Alcano on the picture " Django breaking" he's on the upper left wearing a light blue with a " I Know Life is HARD...So am I" remark. Efren was also playing with a new cue. The cue was made by ER. The cue was beautiful, i saw it up close when it was still at ER's shop. There's also Gabica playing 10 ball against Biado. Biado had a spot, 8 or 9 ball i think. Alex Pagulayan was also in the house, didn't know if he played as i was about to leave when he arrived. Well, Enjoy the pictures..This is one reason i love Philippines, full of Champion players.

Some well deserved rep points heading your way dgem :)

It's good to see Django still moving the rock with the best of them, as well as taking a few lumps out of the competition in the process :)

Thanks for posting buddy and I look forward to seeing some more pics :)

Damn that's bull!

When I was there for the first World's I went to One Side (one time of many) and the security guy wouldn't let me in because I had slippers on. When I peered through the door's window I could see Mika wearing slippers. Now your first pic shows Warren in slippers too!! Maybe I should have pretended to be a famous pool player too!

How much Pesos were they playing for anyway?

You should have shown your rollercoaster stroke to the guard.
Great pool place.
Edwin and I played there one afternoon before my flight.
We went out and ate at an Arabian restaurant after.
On foot of course.

Wow, Champions playing on green cloth with bright table lights. Someone needs to show this set up to the owners at Amsterdam 11th st in NYC.

Haha! Roller Coaster Stroke! That's the most original description of the Filipino cueing style I've heard to date. I have a Pinoy friend here in Seoul who recently went back home to Ilocos for Holiday. He told me he went out to play at the local pool hall and they were making fun of him because he didn't have that Roller Coaster Stroke.

A lot of the Pinoy's seem to think you *have* to have that style to be any good. Too many years of idolizing Efren & Django. Why do I have a feeling that if Django were to teach even *he* would say 'don't copy my style!'.

I know from watching a lot of the top Pinoy pros that their strokes vary yet they are still world beaters!

I'll remember to practice that for the next time I go to One Side!

Salamat!

We surely had the best seat.I have no idea how much django and warren were playing. I guess it's less than 100k pesos as few people were only watching the match. Or maybe i'm wrong, Efren and Ronnie were playing and people could just be more interested watching them.

One side is really strict with the dress code, as far as i know when they opened before they even require collar shirts for the customers. Now, I don't know, the Japanese owner wears border shorts and slippers when he plays. Efren wears slippers most of the time when he plays at one side. I saw him yesterday removing his slippers when reaching for a shot. I guess this gives him more stability.

Here are some links for the videos. Enjoy!!

Haha, the times that I *did* get in to One Side I noticed a lot of Japanese palyers hanging out and gambling too. One of the funniest things I remember is those dudes scarffing down Lechon, Pancit, and Sisig like it was going out of style.

They didn't even come up for air!!! :)

Maybe I should open a Filipino food stand in Pool Halls across Japan? $$$$$

Lechon - one of my favorites!
I absolutely love the lechon sauce!
And I kid you not!

:)

There are some but they are few and far between. There were two really good ones, one of which was quite upscale. But both have since closed down now.

A lot of the veggies that's used in Filipino food are very expensive and hard to get here.

sucks for me.
