Do any of you serious players shoot at Fox and Hound Pub & Grille in Evansville IN?

Do any of you serious players shoot at Fox and Hound Pub & Grille in Evansville IN?

I am curious if any of you serious players shoot at Fox and Hound Pub & Grille in Evansville IN?

They have many (I think 8) very nice 9 foot Diamond pool tables, and they have free pool from 11am until 2 pm (maybe just on weekdays, not sure).

I recently moved to Evansville, and played there for about an hour.

I only ordered an iced tea, and they told me that table time is free from 11 am until 2 pm (normally $10 per hour, in the later hours of the day).

The pool room was dead while I was in there (no players, other than myself).

I would really like to find a good strong B player (or better) to practice with (to help me improve my game a little), but would love to practice with anyone that wants to practice with me.

I have been told that all of the good players hang out at a place on the west side called, Sam & Jimmy's Hobo Jungle, but I live on the east side (off of Green River Rd), and I have no car.

The Fox and Hound pub is the most convenient place for me (because it is so close to where I live), so I am just curious if any of you guys ever go in there to shoot from 11 to 2?

I would really like to find some good players to practice with.

O'Brian's Sports Bar & Grill also has free pool from 11am until 3pm (maybe just on weekdays), but that is about a mile and a half for me to walk to (down Green River Rd).

If anyone here knows of any places on the east side (of Evansville) where some good players go to shoot, than I would really like to know.

I already know about the 3 pool rooms on the west side, but they are just too hard for me to get to.

I really want to get back into playing, but I need some good players to practice with.

Thanks

I live on the Eastside of Eville.

I never go to The Fox and the Hound, and honestly I have no idea why, but I guess, I just never liked it over there. I didn't know about O'brien's doing free pool during the days, but I'd love to go out and play some free pool during the day. I'm not a particularly strong player(Solid 5 in APA), but I have a car and free time during the day. Mostly, I go to Bob's Lounge, but there are other places like Mojo's and KC's Timeout Lounge on the eastside with newer Diamonds, but most are bar boxes.

There is one in mason ohio with 4, 8ft older diamonds. Didn't even know they made 8 ft diamonds ever. But they play alright. I never go there cause its also 10 an hour and I'd rather drive 15 mins to michaels.

It is not a very ritzy restaurant, but it is nice, and I imagine they have good food to for the prices they charge for lunch ($6.99, to $7.99 lunch menu). They are very nice tables (Diamonds), I think they are due for a re felting, and I do not think that the cloth is not high end (like Simonis). I would imagine that the pool rates in NY are very high, but I never been to NY.

$10 an hour is insane. Is it super upscale? I usually balk at anything over $5.

Well, maybe they also have free pool if you order lunch. I imagine that they are probably all like that (free pool during the early opening hours), if they are all owned by the same person. I think it is a good way to bring in business for lunch (offering free pool).

I stayed in a motel about a mile north of Bob's Lounge for 3 weeks (while looking for an apartment), and that area of town is very creepy (scary, I think) at night. I was too scared to leave my motel room at night (to walk down there), lol.

I remember there was a fox and hound in King of Prussia. Myself and a few friends went therefor food and rinks during the time of the EXPO. they had diamond 9 footers but they were not in good shape.

I more then likely would not go there to play if there were other options around.
