Would you play in one of the Az Desert Classic Tour tournys with a paid spot??

I would not accept $90.00 from anyone for the entry fee, as I am 110% SURE I could not return the $90.00 back after the event from my winnings. Plus I would get nothing from playing in a event with mostly 9 and above rated player except racking experience.

Quit worrying about the Az rating system, and get out and beat SOMEBODY. Sooner, or later it HAS to happen.

You know Rick I try like hell to play one tournament a week, some times I make some times I do not.

Also if you read my post one place I showed up to 3 times in the last 60 days, did not have a tournment becasue too few players did not show up to have a tournment.

Kind of feel sorry for the Bar Owner as they are spending good money on advertising, and no one is showing up to compete.

I've been in Az for 20 years and there was a rating system here when I arrived. Unless someone was a player before this system was in place then they have grown in the game under this system. Our system IMO has led to the great tournament mecca that we have here. Go to other places and see how little choice they have!

Great Point, and we do have like 70 weekly Tournaments in AR to choose from. I am new in the Valley, only been here 10 years.

So for 99% of the players in our area you have reaped the benefits of the system many of you seem to be dogging! I just don't get it. If you don't like the system then get involved in it and work to change its' shortfalls.

There is no need to jump all over someone because they want to play in a handicapped tournament. Not everyone wants to nor may they have the time, money and/or ability to play at a higher level. We need to have all of the involvement of all the players to keep and hopefully grow what we have. How each person chooses to spend their money effects what we have here, and $11 plus transportation plus food and/or drinks is an outing. Who are anyone of us to badmouth someone for how they spend THEIR money. You want someone else to see how you budget? Who are you .... "big brother". WTF do you listen to yourself?

Great point about, "$11 plus transportation plus food and/or drinks is an outing.", and for me it is my weekly budget. Use to love to go to Kolby?s on Sunday when gas was only $2.30/Gal. That round trip for me is like 100 miles plus, and 1 hour each way. It not the cost of the GAS, it the cost of everything going up because of the cost of delivery them to store because the Delivery Trucks run on Gas, or Diesel that is high than ever before in the history of the State of AZ.

More great news last Friday our Medical Insurance is going up 35% in July. That is aa have to have thing.

Living the the HOT State of Arizona where we have a Rating System that is pretty much used in most tournament play, I wonder if people prefer OPEN Play tournaments, or if they prefer a Handicapping System like is used in other AMATURE SPORTS Golf coming to mind to match up play ability, and give more than the BEST Player a Chance to CASH in on Tournament Play.

Handicapped tournaments .

How you play a good player and learn nothing from it? Hell, I can play a bad player and learn something. You have to keep your eyes, and ears open.

Way back when, before the AZ ratings system, all were 'open' tournys. You think things are tough now... You had to play road players, local pros, all even. Believe me...you'll learn something.

That's the way you get better....

Stay out of the hole in the wall places!! You need to go to a bigger establishment, obviously. I'm sure you can find one on the west side... Ken just mentioned a tourny on Sundays....every week. Close to you too. 75th and Peoria.

WOW, I'm officially done dealing with you Coco. If you don't want to improve your game (and others), WTF are you doing on this forum in the first place? Seriously? Most of us are here to get additional information and learn to be better. If you can't get anything out of playing rack boy to great players, you should definitely retire. Wow, unbelievable.

For the record...I will play 100% of the time if I get a paid entry...Even if I never win a game and ony play rack boy....(But I will try like hell to win)

So if anyone want to pay my entry to the next event (Straight Pool) let me know...BTW....My high run is a whopping 37...

Cowboy....As goofy hard as you are to understand...I mentioned that tournament to help you out...It is not listed in any papers...It is open to anyone and there is no handicapp...but I promise it is a perfect tournament for you...It is about 10 - 20 people (guys and girls) that play race to (2) 8-ball..It is only a 5 dollar entry. It is a very non competative tournemant (meaning they are just there to have fun)...There will be a few good shooters....but for the most part it will be mostly 7 rated players.

I only play on a limited basis so you probably won't see me there... Just stop in Sundays @ 3:00pm and ask for Chuck, or Tim, or Gary (owner)... You can even tell them that Ken sent you if you want and they will get you squared away...I promise you will have a good time and get to shoot some 8-ball.
