Do you have a problem with playing against members of the opposite sex

you mean on how give the woman a better chance at winning? Not sure what your asking lol.

If that is what your asking.....I'd suggest play really dumb and non threatning, smile and make him feel like the guy he is lmao.

He'll get lazy and probably try and show off. Take the lead and work on him when he does make a mistake, don't do anything showy and when you do get in trouble make sure to lock him up.

If a woman gets a guys nose open its much worse than a guy doing it to another guy. In the woman:man situation where the woman is in control of the game the guy will many times overtry b/c he's now fearful of being bested by a woman.

Your already in control and now its his turn and you leave him POWERLESS.....do that enough and his brain will turn to mush.

Guys will do some stupid stupid things when a womans got his bawls in a vice......

If a woman that played top speed pool went on the road as an unknown.....I've always believed that woman could do alot better and make alot more money than a male hustler could.

As almost every guy on the planet would be offering weight when she didn't even need it. So much for that big male ego lol......

men may be the hunters but women are much better trap artists.....

thanks bud

Playing Sheilas

It is hard to play a gal. They are a minority and although there are some great lady players they are on average a lower skilled player. Just like playing some guy who you know is not to spiffy, its hard to come with your best game. Thats why I don't play APA, I hate to play a 2 or 3 when I need 6 games. But heh, thats why you don't declare a 6 anyway. And then when you beat them, well no credit, cause your supposed to. And if you lose, well your just gonna here about that from your male counterparts. Its a no win deal really. But I seriously don't think I would have ever been playing for 45 years if there were no ladies in the bars. I have never had anything to do with a lady that wasn't a player also. Best lady player I ever beat (challenge match) was Jeanette Lee. 2 games 9 ball on a 9 footer. She didn't like it cause it was her first match of the evening and she really straightened up after that. OMG did you see the nude layout of her in that ESPN magazine. Don't think I could beat her if she dressed like that!!!!

Guess never looked at being a girl pool player as an advantage. Now I do. Thanks to this sweet thread and finding out how everyone is secretly afraid. I always thought "I'm a girl, I'm not supposed to beat this guy"-for some weird reason. I have been born with an advantage and I'm going to learn how to harness it. Be afraid suckas.

The only woman I have trouble playing beats Shin Park as often as not. Somehow I don't think my problem is just that she's cute... (I almost had her once. It ended 7-7, me going to 8...so close!)

Always playing loser pays kinda makes you stop feeling bad about beating the girls. ;-)

I have no problem playing the unattractive guys.........who cares about them? But if he's hot? I get distracted by his large package and cute ass. I just want to run to the kitchen and cook up something tasty for him, then have his babies.

I want to giggle and bat my eyes, make a lame bridge and bang the balls around so that he wins, because I don't want to hurt his ego. That's how we were told to behave when we were growing up...the man is supposed to be good at all these things and women are not supposed to be good at 'Man things'.

If that sounds silly.......well, you're probably sounding pretty silly to me, too.

I wouldn't care if you wore a bad red dress and wig, either. On my team, I have a trans-gender woman. She shoots well, but I have empathy for her when I see the stares and snickers behind her back. She's the bravest person I know.

End of rant. Mahalo.

I think as an unspoken rule, if your a man, you should take it easy on the lady players. Just let them win almost always. Its not very nice to beat women. I know that when I lose that I cry...a lot.. then the guy cries. Its not pretty. I'm not speaking for all ladies players but defiantly me.

Just wondering if your a guy playing against a women or a women playing against a guy. Do you feel that you play at your best or do you have a tendency to not play as strong as you think that you should just because your playing a member of the opposite sex ?
If so, do you think it's cost you matches, tournaments etc. ?
Anybody got any stories?
I have no problems competing with, or gambling with women. I have beaten and lost to my fair share.

But for some reason I get more satisfaction when I get a female player on three fouls...not sure why.

Recall the all important lesson in the film The Color of Money where Vincent played the old man who had a tracheotomy.

It doesn't matter if it's a woman, a person in a wheelchair, a terminal cancer patient, a retarded person, a little old lady ....you play to WIN. Period.

This is pool. You play your game. If you're into charity, go join the Salvation Army. If you want to make people feel better, go become a counselor or something.

This is what the pool gods command. Respect and obey or face their wrath!
