Let's Go Back To POOL
Dear Impact Blue,
After just coming back from the 2008 World Junior & Wheelchair Championship in Reno, NV, I want to let you know the atmosphere was cheerful, healthy and highly positive. Maybe Mike & Jerry can chime in here since they did a wonderful job setting up the streaming video and covering the event. The event was well organized in a short amount of time by a great team of good people. There were over 50 young players from all parts of the world in the room representing their countries and competing for the highest honor. The time together will be memorable for new met friends, families and players in the years to come.
Here are several slideshows, one for each day of the event:

For more information about getting your young kids started in the same passion you have, I highly recommend you take a look at
Billiard Education Foundation founded by Laura Smith and Dawn Hopkins. BEF has a lot of good information for parents to learn about, including why they should encourage their kids to start playing pool, how to do it and what kind of help they can get.
Here is another slideshow for BEF in 2007 (with great music):

In the past year over 20 certified instructors around the country have joined us and started a online Q&A section called "
Ask Instructors". There have been quite a few questions about how to help young players. Please check them out and share any questions or ideas you may have. This will help you and many other parents just like you.
Pool has really becoming a great activity for our young kids. Together we can help each other, stay clear of the dark clouds and walk straight towards the bright light. There is a great future for everyone!
