Never played Pill Pool but I did learn how to play in the pool room in the basement of the student union building at college, on 60's era GC tables. Never played on a bar table until years later cause I wasn't 21 yet.
Do you see Challenge (winner stays on / quarters on the rail, waiting to play the winner) tables going on anymore?

Pill pool isn't just one game. There are a number of games you can play with pills. You can have a number of players often 5 or 6, like a poker game.

Yeah, the way we played was, we would put random numbers, from 1 to 9 in the pill bottle, and if there were 4 players playing for example, then you would shake the bottle up, and choose 1 pill (number) out of the bottle, and put it in your pocket. It would be a secret that only you would know, unless you made that number ball during the game of Rotation (9 ball, or 10 ball). We would usually play really cheap, like a Dollar, or Two Dollars, for whoever made their number, and then all players playing would have to pay the player who made their secret money ball. It was a lot more interesting then just a regular ring game, where all players played for the same money balls.

Exactly!I used to set a penny, or some identifying marker down with my quarter.
When the tables were too busy I played foosball. Same deal, winners stay on the table. Some nights I never got back to the pool table.
