Just a report from Greenville, SC. I finally got out to Palace Billiards today after a week in town. I've been spending my day's at Sporties / Gametime, since I've been here. The Palace is a Hustlers Den, you have to admire a place that uses money as Wallpaper, I left my Mark By The Door On The Right Side As You Leave.

The game is deep and it starts as soon as you walk in, you can feel it "being sized up" been a long time since I've been in this type of atmosphere. Thanks goodness I watched Grady's Video Money Pool, it puts you on point for alot of the signs.

Overall, for my initial foray into the den I put on a good show but I didn't let all the speed out, played a guy I'm sure he did the same. I might get some action before I leave town, got to work out a good spot that will make a good game win or lose.

Anybody have any advice?

Walk up to the bartender and give him $10 and say that's for starters. Tell him he doesn't owe you a darn thing. Then ask him if he can steer you into some easy action (give him the dollar amount you want to play for) and the game and the speed you want to play at. Tell him you ain't no champ (since you're making this post here :-) )

(Bartenders don't get very many $10 tips, especially from the go-offs. He will probably be generally appreciative and give you some names and point you in the right direction)

And then hope he doesn't dump you. :p I bet he puts you on some decent action. :)

Good luck. Let me know how it goes.

I doubt any bartender worth his salt would be putting his own customers in a trap, and if he worked for me I would fire his ass!

There's a big difference between putting customers in a trap and steering action their way.

What game are you looking for action in? 9ball? One pocket? I may know a few players to let them know you are in town.
