Do you wear competition pool outfits? Thoughts?

When I play in a big tournament I like to just wear what I would normally wear at the office even down to the shoes. I have the fancy Oxfords with the molded soles rather than wood so they feel like sneakers. Typical polo shirt and slacks of course.

I'm thinking about a competition shirt with maybe my name. I want matching color shirt that matches my cue I will be playing with. I have some shoes to match the cues too. May feel like early 2000's. LOL

I have many friends that own their own businesses and they said they are willing to pay some fees if I wear their polo shirt but I don't want to do that. Realtors, restaurants, HVAC and a few professional service practices. Not sure if I want to go this route and they offered. Tournament entry fee and proof is a social media post. SMH I wish they would do it for travel. LOL

Anyone of you guys decked out in "competition clothes" or sponsored?
Flip flops and a sweat stained wife beater. ;)
🤣🤣🤣

Ehhh let people wear what they want. Everyone remember when the hustlin clothing line came out? Everyone was wearing it lol. I think the push to make pool look more like a sport is bringing in the jersey uniforms. Whatever grows the game. Personally I just hate wearing long sleeve shirts when I play. Never like things encasing my elbows.

No long sleeves for me either.

I wear those baseball undershirts sometimes. 3/4 sleeve for those pool halls that don't want to turn on their heater in the winter. LOL

No.

Only my Bruno Maglis have wood soles.

Let me preface and say my dress shoes are over $500- $1000 made in Italy or preferably in the UK. Which I regret collecting. LOL

Till I found $200 pair of Cole Haan. I know Cole Haan isn't very good but they are comfy for the office. They are throw away shoes and cannot be repaired but I am ok with it.
Maybe you should be on a shoe forum.

I know a lot of people that will wear them at they gym but I don't know about playing pool. I wouldn't feel comfortable. At a gym no problem. I may wear shorts over them. Too casual for pool tourney.

I think it’s foolish honestly .. just not my style. I will wear like a predator t shirt sometimes but that’s it. I was just at acs nationals and it’s very popular. One booth was even putting your name on for free if you bought one. I’m good but not a pro..I’m not wearing a jersey with my name on it lol but hey you do you.

I just wear a shirt that was given from a previous event, if it is not an event that gives them out. Got 4 or 5 jersey style shirts from events. Just pick whichever one comes first. Black dickies, and whichever black shoes I find first. Dunks, Sambas or whatever else. Got told off for wearing my Cons at the last event I played in. They wanted me to put black electrical tape over the white toe cap. I argued the toss till they didn't care anymore.

For footwear, I go with Sketchers Desert Boots…….light as a feather, great soft soles feel like padded moccasins,
Contour fit to your fit after being worn once, great laces to tie that will last a long time and stylish in just a ankle boot.

I never wear trousers which are not really not comfy versus Levi’s, Dockers or Cargo Pants where the pockets come
in pretty handy. For a shirt, I prefer T shirts but not for a tournament unless the weather was suited for a long sleeve.
In that case, it’s usually a LL Bean, Eddie Bauer or Sonoma Brand Henley long sleeve 3 button T shirt. For a short
sleeve, I prefer collarless shirts and a slim fit size in a fabric shirt like Tommy Armour, Champion, Nike, Reebok, etc.
have nice material and drapes on your body. It should fit close too, not some tent, because it just feels better as your
stroking arm brushes across your rib cage region. If I’m not wearing the Desert boots, probably Sherry Gold Cup boat
shoes or Clark’s. Sometimes even just an athletic, lightweight running show but I don’t ever run…..figuratively & literally.

Now at the pool hall, it is jeans, cargo shorts or sweats, t-shirt, sneakers and a variety of Sketchers footwear. In cold weather, a color thermal top by itself, a close knit sweater or a stretchable T-Shirt underneath a long sleeve Henley T-Shirt. The tighter fitting shirt holds your body warmth better & it doesn’t crowd as much under the Henley top shirt and also fits better too.

Whatever you decide, don't wear it for the first time in competition. You have to play at least one practice match in your outfit. For example, different shoes may change your height at the table. Even if it's slight, it can affect your balance. While some shirts feel perfectly fine standing up, once you're down you may feel pulling or tugging. Same with pants.
