Do you wish your significant other shoots pool?

Someone once said "Be careful what you ask for." In my experience they were very smart indeed.

I'm with you on this one. The wife has no interest in pool and that's just fine with me. Nothing wrong with having some interests separate from each other.

I also enjoy playing golf. I remember once she said she was talking to her mom and they thought maybe they would take some lessons and learn to play golf. I said "The first thing you need to do is find some women to pay with."

A man's got to have his sanctuaries.

Be careful what you wish for.....

To answer your question, "Hell yeah". But it's not going to happen. It's probably for the best anyway. My wife doesn't appreciate the gambling aspect of pool for sure. She's too tight with money to risk anything, anytime. We go to the casino every now and then to eat at the buffet and will play a little. I give her $40 while my son and I go play a little blackjack every 6 months or so. We meet an hour later and she's still got the $40. lol

Besides the banter in the pool room can get pretty vulgar and just plain crude. It is the way of some pool rooms, unfortunately. Add in a few haters, a POS here and there and a gossiper or two and you can have some volatile scite going on.

I'm lucky enough to have an angel of a wife that has tolerated my pool addiction for 38 years. There aren't many like her, I guarantee.....

My advice for a lasting relationship is the set up some guidelines and stick to them. I have one friend who promised that he would only play pool on Monday and Thursday nights. He plays well enough that he could win tournaments but doesn't play in them because he promised his wife, Monday and Thursday only. He's doing real good.

If I had it to do over, I would have a pool table in my house in a large room partially separated from the main house where I could bang balls to the wee hours of the night. Every now and then, I would sneak out and like when Conan was asked, "Conan! What is best in life?" and he replied, "To crush your enemies -- See them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women!"

It's something i have been struggling about! My other half just loves to read and write! How about yours?? Any successful converts story?

My wife would have never played pool in her life if it would have been up to her...lol. However, she saw very quickly that I enjoyed pool and she started playing to come out with me.

We now play in leagues together and have a lot of fun and she gives me the space to play in higher level leagues that she cannot compete in (ie., APA Masters).

She knows my passion for pool and last Christmas gave me $4K towards a Diamond Pool Table. She knows that I have wanted a Diamond for a long time although I already had another table.

We have been together for 24 years and have found a way to make it work.
