Any1 know why Grady forfeited his winners side match in the 1P trny at the Southern Classic Open? Looks like it is a GREAT field. I will take Cliff for 200 Vbux if any1 is interested ;)

Did someone call you & tell you this or did you read it somewhere? I only ask because I'm not seeing any coverage. There's probably 10 different freaking threads started by the same person, saying the same thing.... "It's going to be great, so & so is here, so & so are in action" etc.... I do recall seeing this same person saying that updates would be available here... It sounded as if they were going to take this upon themselves or knew of someone that was. I would love to know where in the hell I've got to go to get some info on this tourney!

I might be mistaken, but I think my buddy John played Grady first round. That is what I was told anyway. He supposedly lost and played Buddy next. That was the info that trickled down to me third hand anyway.

Hi Timberly, they just posted the brackets on the AZ billiards home page, along with a nice photo of Shawn!

Who knows with Grady He is often 'deeply offended' by things that should not be taken personally. I think it was the Trump 10 ball challenge that he showed up for and when passes were not provded for player wives he promptly went home.

I can't blame Grady for that, you shouldn't have to buy a tic for your wife when you're in the tournament

I watched the match for most of the entire time and it appeared that there was a discrepancy in shot that groundhog played that grady was not happy with. Illegal or not, I'm not sure but it appeared that the TD sided with Groundhog on that shot and Grady got pissed off and left.

But I just wanted to point out that Grady was calling the TD over to constantly to watch shots that it just got on their nerves.

Grady Thought That Horrace A.k.a. Groundhog Double Hit On A Shot. No One Calls For A T.d. Or Ref. To Watch The Hit. The Rule States That If The Opposing Player Doesn't Call For Someone To Watch The Hit, The Shot Usually Goes In Favor Of The Person Shooting. I Guess Mr. Mathews Felt That He Was Cheated; Therefore, He Decided To Walk Away.

This has happened to me before. In my case the opposing player got up and shot fairly quick while I was still sitting there going ...hmm this looks like it could be a push....and while I was thinking about it he fired away, clearly (IMO) pushing the hell out of the cueball. Then I was told the rule about having to bring it to the attention of the TD or im basically out of luck and I got pretty hot. I can see how Grady got mad, but in the end I did understand that the burden is on you to stop play and call someone over.

What made me mad too was that after the match my opponent insisted that he had hit follow on the ball. Yeah its follow when the cueball overtakes the object ball off the rail as they both head down table. Yeah right.
