Quite a few events still provide free streaming. Examples: all of the US Pro Billiard Series events (which are sponsored by CSI and Predator), the recent World 8-Ball and World 10-Ball Championships, Turning Stone events, the American Straight Pool events, challenge matches from the Philippines.Does anyone still live stream without charging a pay per view fee? I used to like checking out the streaming forum and finding a good match or tournament going on. Al was great! Gone are the days I suppose. Sigh...
I used to get emails alerting me to such things. Not one in years. Seems like they would want to promote them so they could get viewers and sponsors and such.. I don't spend a lot of time hunting for them quite honestly. Hell, what do I know. If just the AZB members alone got an email promoting the event they would most likely have a huge increase in the number of watchers. Maybe a seperate section in the live streaming section for free to watch events would worth creating to help get the word out?Quite a few events still provide free streaming. I know on youtube at least you have to be subscribed to a channel and have the bell icon turned on to get notifications. I don't know of anyone doing emails anymore, just reminders on apps.I used to get emails alerting me to such things.
WOW. A pool player bitching about something not being free anymore. How novel.
No one is complaining that they want free streams. To lazy to sign up for notifications? No not sure what or where or how to do such things. But I'm learning a lot from this thread. I think everything needs to be funded in some way. That is either the P.P.V. model or the Sponsored by Model. Free? No. I have done the P.P.V. with shit results, problems with streaming, delays, poor quality and god knows what else, enough to pass on it for the rest of my life. Plus unless I have all week or week end to and enough interest to make it worth while I found it to be pretty expensive for what I personally was getting out of it. I would rather see some advertising and not feel like it was a waste of money because I didn't take full advantage. Also, Yes I said I hadn't really done any digging. This thread is turning into a gold mine. I guess it really does matters where you dig.Yes the op is complaining .He wants free streams , and wants to not have to look for them .
OP does have a valid point - if you do something why not promote it?
I realize the op is probably too lazy to sign up for notifications but maybe others arent?
If I ran a tournament it would be promoted before-during-and after.
