That'll be $5 extra, and it's more of a dusting than a sprinkle. Can I get a sprinkle of chalk on that? LMAO
Lately I've noticed that everyone seems to be putting LD shafts on high dollar cues. With all these low deflection shafts on the market nowadays (314-2, OB2, I2, Hybrid, etc.) being on just about every cue in the poolhall, does the maker of the butt end really matter ?
As long as the butt and shaft line up/fit without any facing issues, could a player put a Z shaft on a $25 ebay cue, and shoot as well as if he had put the Z shaft on a $450 cue ?
I play with an LD Shaft attached to a Broom stick, works great for me!!
Oh an by the way, I cored out the Broom Stick and used epoxy to attach the shaft to the handle!!!![]()
Does it still have the bristle end? If so, that ain't right.

Yes it certainly does, after I finish whooping a little butt, I use the cue to sweep the floor before I go home at night!!![]()
I finally settled on a McDermott I-3 shaft (I'm probably in a minority on this but I just like it the best). As to the butt, the feel and balance is subjective. I played with a McDermott butt and the I-3 and liked it as a player. Then for about a year or so I played with a Dale Perry butt (again I'm in the minority here) and bought a used radial I-3 for it. Excellent balance and feel and a great cue overall. Now I play with a Schon CX-06 that I was lucky enough to find at a great price on this forum. Again I had to buy another used I-3 for it.
I am trying to figure out how I can get one to fit in a case! Maybe I need an old guitar case? Thanks Craig!
So in summary, 85% shaft and 25% butt.
No, it doesn't matter who made the butt. You should screw a shaft into a papaya and shoot with that.
