Does one pocket take away ones ability to play pocket pool ?
No it helps all pool games. You learn to control both balls much better. Also helps banks.Does one pocket take away ones ability to play pocket pool ?
Who’s shot is it????One pocket ruins every game. It will make you never want to play pool again
I played so bad yesterday… I gave away 3 cues. Trashed my car. Danced on my record collection. Kicked the dog. I hate the fkn game. Seriously I hate myself. Screw meWho’s shot is it????![]()

not sure what you are asking?Eric, I sent you a letter , I hope that I can hear back from you , its about a book... Guy ... I was just watching Efren and Lee Van play one pocket at the Derby City 2022 , I have watched these two play 8 and 9 ball for a long time... If either one has a chance to practice on a table they can both play the cushions real well, yet in these games neither one is playing banks or bank cuts , cross or long either one... If its a defensive game to block the opponent their not doing this either... ? What am I missing...
I can sure see how playing 1 pocket would make you a much better pool player... Especially if you're playing like Efren and Lee were intentionally... Thanks for the info... GuyNo it helps all pool games. You learn to control both balls much better. Also helps banks.
1P improves everything in your pool game-if you can play pool when you start playing 1P.
For a average player who’s played pool for less than 2-3 years and doesn’t yet have solid fundamentals then yeah 1P might be a bad idea.
But when you have a good stroke, fundamentals, and can play rotation games with strength and firepower. Then 1P will be very beneficial to round out your game. Playing 2 way shots and safe in rotation games improves drastically after a year of 1P.
But to start playing 1P when your C player could be bad. Bunting before you can shoot isn’t a good idea
Best
Fatboy<——-still can’t play 14.1, but has the rest covered
Nope. It helps build strategy knowledge and two way shots. Also very good for learning banks and specialty shots.Does one pocket take away ones ability to play pocket pool ?
I should get help. 1p caused hair loss, bad breath, ulcers.... That's what I got from this game.Have you tried to get help ?
Your talking to a man thats dieing... I'm trying to see if 1 pocket game will bring in outside viewers to the pool games and not get bored watching... to see if just maybe there is a simple way for the nonplayer to understand the game... GuyI should get help. 1p caused hair loss, bad breath, ulcers.... That's what I got from this game.
Ok seriously. Players will say it's the ultimate game. It's chess. It's a game in game. The game of wits and creativity. There's a certain love/passion to 1P. Please excuse my sarcastic and uncalled for posts.... that's what 1P does to a person when they do not play up to speed. They go home evaluating what happened. Bothers them badly causing them to work harder, work on the flaws/hiccups. It's a beautiful game that never gets mastered. Answering your original question I think 1p helps every game....it strongly emphasizes cue ball control. How to escape situations...The art of trapping and patterns for running balls. Once you start playing it's takes time to understand the game. Do not get discouraged. Develop your stroke and pocketing skills first. Have fun with it.
Keep watching it. I prefer to watch "A" players that are more human than Efren. It's boring if not understood. Same as chess...I have no idea what is going on and cannot appreciate what I'm looking at.. to see if just maybe there is a simple way for the nonplayer to understand the game... Guy
One Pocket is the best game in Pool. I would say the object is to get a ball, or balls, clustered all but hanging in your pocket and playing position that does not allow the person you are playing a shot at his pocket and no shot at breaking up your balls.Eric, I sent you a letter , I hope that I can hear back from you , its about a book... I played 1p for lots of years, To try to watch the games today are Sad... I told John Barton, JB cases that a few years back on YouTube and he told me that that was the reason he wasn't playing professional... GuyKeep watching it. That was after taking a break...should have seen me before. My issue is do not play/practice enough. I was starting to catch on and covid put the brakes on. I was playing regularly and improving. Today ...my concentration is not there. And I'm not motivated. Age is not helping but I'm just trying to play to best of my ability. That's as good as it's going to get.I been there.
Take a break
John is not close to being at pro level. Why are todays games sad?I played 1p for lots of years, To try to watch the games today are Sad... I told John Barton, JB cases that a few years back on YouTube and he told me that that was the reason he wasn't playing professional... Guy
