When I am playing 99% of the time I am shooting with my Callaluca with a Predator 314-2 shaft and I have yet to find a set up that feels better to me .
Here is the problem I come across when I am practicing I seem to get over confident and start one stroking balls and rushing shots therefore missing easy shots because I took the shot for granted . I really feel like I get so comfortable and confident with my Callaluca and the 314-2 that I get lazy and dont take the time to stroke the ball and I just get up there and one stroke easy shots . As an example yesterday and the first part of today I was practicing with a Coker cue and the standerd shaft that came with it and was shooting the lights out . I took my time on almost every shot as I felt like I really needed to stroke the cue good to compensate for not having the Predator 314-2 . It was some of the best pool that I have shot in a long time . Then I went back to the Predator 314-2 and with in two or three racks I was one stroking and missing easy shots again :frown:

Well I know its all in my head and I am going to stick with my Callaluca maybe just ditch the 314-2

Anyone else ever have this problem ?

Thanks for listening to me ....... Larry

Try developing a pre shot routine where you take at least 4-5 warm up strokes before EVERY shot, not just the difficult ones. If you watch the top players, obviously they treat every shot the same.

Yeah I share this problem. IMO, it isn't the cue or the shaft, but the pre-shot routine, as Charlie H says. If ONLY I could take those 4-5 practice strokes every time

When you play with a new/different cue, your mind IS focused better on the fundamentals.

My experiences with the quick-routine are usually after solving the problems in a rack of 8-ball. The whole table solved, and I will dog the 6th or 7th ball. I'd be mighty thankful if you share the solution to solve that problem. Just focus/concentration leaving at the wrong time.
