Does this remind you of a pool player?

The OP suggested he was a "pretty good" player - I'm just asking a question.

Any insight into Harry Anderson?
Starred as the judge on "Night Court" which was one of the better sitcoms of the 1980s. He started out as a professional magician.

There was one "Night Court" episode in which he played pool in a bar, but I would not say he displayed any real skill for the game in that brief segment.

Yes, I know well who he was and his story - which has never included any notion he was an avid player that I've seen - never gets brought up by those close to him in terms of his days on the road and so forth.

That's the only reason I asked - seemed an unusual suggestion but would be very happy to learn he enjoyed pool and was good at it if he was, believe me. It does seem that notions that so and so celebrity was good at pool are often more like fanciful rumor than reality, but it's always fun to learn people enjoyed playing pool, even if they weren't good at it.

I'm always surprised when they show pool in movies and tv no one ever looks like they can play at all. Not even people in the background of the scenes can play at all often not even shooting with the cue ball just whatever ball is in front of them.
Even the famous Twilight zone episode. Winters looked like he had never seen a pool table before. Klugman looked ok though.

I wonder if Gleason might have been one of the best players of tv personalities??

At his magic shows he discusses that he is good at pool. I guess I can do a deep dive and try to find something, but he was a comedian, actor, master magician, is pool really out of his range though?
If he says he's good at pool, that's good enough for me. I realize it doesn't mean that he can beat Josh or Fedor.

A pool related tidbit from Night Court is that Mitch Laurance was a guest star in a few episodes. He had yet to meet her at that point, but he would go on to marry Ewa Mataya, now known as BCA Hall of Famer Ewa Mataya Laurance.
