Does this table need new cushions?

The AMF Grand Prix used Manhattan raybestos K66 cushions, possibly the best cushion ever made. I've never had to replace a set because they were hard or dried out. You may have to re glue the cushion to the liner but that's a minor repair that can be done at the time you recover the table.

These AMF commercial tables are very well built and play great.

Cant tell

Sometimes you cant even tell if the cloth is off the table. put a ball on the table, hit pretty hard against a rail and it should bounce rail to rail at least 3 times side to side, 2-3 times long ways. feel the rubber with your hand to for any hard spots, sometimes only 1/2 the peice will be bad.

2-3 times? where did you get that? should be 4 to 4.5 times

Table cushions should influence the speed of the table such that with placement of a ball on the head spot, shooting through the foot spot, using center ball english, with a level cue and firm stroke, the ball must travel a minimum of 4 to 4 ½ lengths of the table without jumping.

Im leaving room in case they dont hit the ball like they are breaking. A dead rail wont move 1.5 no matter how hard you hit it.
