Doesn anyone use a Willard Scuffer (DIME)

That isn't what I got from their answer. My understanding is they have had it for 12 years and used it 3 or 4 times in the 12 years.

If I misunderstood then, oh well.

the williard shaper should last a long time if its one without defects. its kinda like the cue cube. i personally dont have one simple because i feel its too shallow. but honestly, if you have to scuff 3-4 times a day, i think you should be investing money on a better cue tip!

Does it work well and last how many time you use it 3 - 4 times a day?

I actually said this in another thread recently. Every time you chalk your tip, you're shaping it. There's absolutely no need whatsoever to do anything to your tip once you do the initial shaping. If you're grooming your tip daily, you're really doing it too much.

I agree, *Who spit in the chalk. Cole

You're right. They're not worth the money to me.

I beleive Jude is right, in that if you chalk your cue properly your tip will be fine. This means you rub the chalk on the tip, not drill a hole through the chalk ;) .

I use a sandpaper shaper and lightly sand about once a week, just "one time around" the tip so it has a new surface. I never do anything else. Don't "tip tap", scuff, etc. I do this because I feel it gives me more consistent draw.

Something interesting.... On my break cue - tip, I did not do anything to it for 6 months. Did not sand it or anything. Well it worked fine for 6 months before I miscued - them kept miscuing every time. (Tip had become slick.) Then I did my sandpaper shaper "resurface thing" and it worked fine again. So for my break cue, I think I will do nothing except resurface it about every 4 months or so.

Right. I use the willard after 50 hours to shape the tip perfect. I use a moori medium and use the willard carefully (not trying to make fire as others I've seen using that tool).

I always have one on my keychain. They come in handy when I'm in bars (all the time). I can always pull a cue off the wall and scuff my tip when nobody is looking.

I use a Dime Shape on my Playing Cue, it works well, but your STROKE has to be TRUE. Nickel Shape is More Forgiving.

Willard should last you a Lifetime, or until Someone BORROWS it, and FORGETS TO RETURN IT.

I am Sold on the Dime Shape, but also have a Nickel Shaped Willard...

Thanks for the feedback! This is what im looking for in feedback something positive and to the point and something i can learn from. Thanks alot!!! I got my willards dime in and its love at first try (same with chiks). It works excellent i just wanted something with a smaller grit in my toy box. I have an Its George i just use that to shape and the willards to scuff every once in a while. That and i install tips all the time and i need all the tools i can get. As of now i have the Its George, Porper - mushroom grazer, Porper - Burnisher, Willards - Dime (soon a nickel to), Tip Pik - shadow, 10 inch - sanding trough (flat on one side rounded on another).....And a hole lot of sandpaper different grits of course.... Other than that i have alotta toys in my toy box installing tips and making others want a tip when people see that one you did have to make it look professional.
