Saw a video of him recently playing 9 ball, and wondered if anyone knew anything about him.

He still is, though not at his best. He never broke into the top 16, but he did manage to win 2 ranking titles during his career. He also did so during a time where there were far fewer ranking events than there are today. I think many would consider him an underachiever in his career. He’s also quite a good commentator.
Dominic was a very flamboyant and popular player who always drew a crowd for his matches. He played in several of the World Pool Championships when they were held in the UK. He had a notable feud with Earl, almost coming to blows at the time, with cooler heads separating them. I remember him as a great shotmaker and fearless player.
really hard to imagine now, the almost fist fight thing. he seems always very soft spoken and polite

Excellent commentator . One of the few Welshmen I can understand. All around nice guy. Might have made a couple million on the table but that’s total career winnings in ranking and sanctioned events. It’s Hard to make a the big dollars until breaking into the top 16 which he never has done.
Dale was feisty but never in a nasty or rude way. Fist Fight? I haven’t been in a fight since age 11. If I was playing Earl I might have had to update that number.
Bottom line. Every match he plays I cheer for him unless playing Doherty...then I’d have o flip a coin.

I was doing commentary back then and really liked Dominic. He had a way of getting the crowd behind him. I think Earl took offense at that and made some aggressive remarks to Dominic, and Dominic did not back down from him.
