Cue ball draw with this?
Silver Member
I see Domniak Cues is offering leather wraps for $45. Has anyone out there got one? If so how about a critique. Looks, feel, quality, is the color good, how about workmanship? Thanks in advance.

I just recieved an email from William this morning that my WD1020 w/ leather wrap will be shipped the beginning of next week.I'll let you know as soon as I get it!
btw,I have a 1020 w/linen wrap that plays as nice as any cue I've used.Imho the dominiak is the best cue value out there.(I'm not saying it's the best cue, that could start a war, just the best value)

They are a great value

I have a linen wrap cue from him also and I really like the way it plays. I am now loooking at getting another 1020 with a leather wrap and maybe the rings. Will be waiting to hear about yours. Are you getting rings?

Thanks

My first Dominiak has black rings & wrap. The one coming has mahogany rings & matching wrap.I know William was having a problem w/ the leather wraps at first,he has since purchased a new machine (whatever they use for installing the leather).I'll post pics for you.

Update?

You havn't got it yet or you are going through a lot of anxiety waiting for it to arrive. :D :D Any update?

Thanks

Nooooo! Not yet,I recieved one of the new ones I ordered, still waiting on the leather wrap.Bill sent an email a couple of day's ago, said 2 more trips thru the spray booth and it would ship.
Past experience w/ Bill, he always seems to run a little behind but it's worth the wait!
I'll post pics of the whole family when it gets here.

The leather wrap looks very nice.
I've also owned (and now mainly play with one) several 1020 with linen wrap,
and I felt that the groove for the wrap was cut just a little too deep, creating a
slight ridge at the end, how's that with the leather wrap?

This wrap is right in line with other leather wraps I've had installed & cues I've purchased w/ leather wrap. The wrap is ever so slightly raised over the joint collar. The only problem I see w/ the wrap is that the seam is fairly visible, but I think that has a lot to do with the color. Most of the leather wraps I have are black, I had a lighter wrap installed on a Schon to match the cocobolo inlays and that seam is more pronounced also.
All and all I'm very impressed with Williams cues.

Thanks for the pics and the update. I glad you like the wrap and the cue. The leather looks good to me too. I have the same curly maple cue, blk/brn spec, same mahogany butt, no rings. :( I like those rings with the mahogany butt and joint, and leather, in pool talk "nice combo". I like to see one with all black, rings, butt, leather. Just dreaming!
