How good of a pool player was Polo, what was his best game and what ever happen to him,he seemed to disappear in the late 80s!i know he was from the eastcoast,he came to baltimore a pretty good amount of times looking for action in the 80s!
???? still is...... Don is a good guy and great straight pool player. None to shabby in the 9-ball pit either. Terrific all around player and person still living and playing out of southern New Jersey as far as I know. Check with Jose Garcia in Vineland to confirm.
I've seen him at the regional tournaments in the Philly area for years. I don't know him personally, but from what I heard, his best game is straight pool, and his high run is in the 300's. I've watched him gamble at 9 ball once, and he plays jam up. He still plays super strong today.
I remember him in the 1984 US Open nine ball tournament in Norfolk. Not a lot of people had heard of him, but he kept winning and got very deep into the tournament with the likes of Strickland, Sigel, Buddy Hall, and Toby Sweet, to name a few.
Well its great to know that Polo is still alive and still playing strong, thanks alot guys, like i said Polo came to baltimore more then a few times back in the 80s,Polo and Tom Vanover had some great 9ball sessions back in the day, here in baltimore for good stakes.
