Don't you just hate it when.......

One time I sank SEVEN on the break. Unfortunately for me, six were object balls. One was the cueball. It was my hardest, most affective break ever... and I scratched!

As if 3 balls wasn't easy enough for my opponent to run, he got to start with ball in hand!!!!

Ugh!!!!

I hate it even more when you make 5 on the break and have an easy out and get SOOOO excited you dog the first ball.   That REALLY BURNS ME UP!!!!!! :o Anyone else do this or is it just me? Probably just me......:(

How bout the opposite....about 10 years ago, I was playing Don "Mousey" Polo, a great player from Jersey I think, in a big 9ball tourney. He broke, made 6 balls and was hooked. He pushed to a jump shot. I chose to masse and miss cued. The CB went 2 rails made a good hit and billiards the 9 in:D

I felt like crap and apologized, but he said don't worry about it, he is a real nice guy. I almost won the match....lost 9/7....and He was SO surprised at how my game improved from the year before, and had a lot of nice things to say. So it all was good...

All the time. I play 8 ball primarily, so for me it goes more like this: I sink two solids and a stripe on the break, and the remaining solids and the 8 all land in wide open spaces with clear paths to multiple pockets, and I have an easy shot on a solid to start with. As hard as I try to silence it, there's a voice in back of my head singing "break and run, break and run" and an even more insidious one already mumbling about the advantage I'll have being up one more in the score with my opponent now scared of my ability to run out at any time. These two little voices (that I haven't yet figured out how to ignore) get me so worked up I totally hook myself after the first shot, or scratch, or rattle a ball in the corner, or some other such careless mistake. That's when I have to remind myself that if I break my shaft, it's going to cost me $200 to replace.

Are you sure your name isn't Snorks?

I know a guy who made 8 balls on the break and didn't get out. The 9 ball got stuck right on the tit of the side pocket leaving no cut, bank or real safe.

You guys havnt seen the clip of pagulyan breaking and sinking 6 balls... having a clear shot.. then fails to run out?

I forget the exact details, but ill try to find the clip tonight on my HDD and throw it on youtube..

I know someone has it or has seen it before, its hilarious.

Many years ago in a major single elimination tournament, in my first match I had 5 consecutive dry breaks. I mean they were hard breaks on a table with brand new balls and brand new cloth, squatted the cueball in the middle of the table and nothing fell.... I remember on one break at least 4 balls rattled out of the jaws. Well, against a top player it's not easy to win like that. On my 6th break I finally made a ball.... well, 5 balls, and got snookered on the lowest numbered ball. Lost the match 11-6  :o

It was years ago at the Hilltop a 24hr spot outside CLEVE. John Shupert was playing Emil Glokar on a bar-table he made 7 balls on the break, the 7 was hanging in one corner and the cueball downtable with the 9 a couple inches away.We kicked back then all he could do was hit the point and jump the nine,he fouled and quit saying I DON'T WANT TO SEE IF THIS GETS ANY WORSE.
