Any of you cuemakers ever use an air router? I just aquired a dotco mountable air router with some tooling I bought. It was in a drawer of a cabinet. I'm guessing the seller forgot it was in there, because I paid less for everything than the router is worth. It appears to be "brand new" out of the box The air inlet did not look like a fitting was ever screwed into it. I put one on it to see if it worked, and yep, like new. It is extremly quiet. I'm thinking I might sell it to recoup some of my spending. I looked it up and found it new in the $1000 range (I wouldn't ask that much) here are the specs and a stock photo. This is just a feeler to see if it's something cuemakers would use or want. The RPM's are kinda low for what you guys usually run, but it seems like it would be tough to stall it.

Their .9 hp router lists as using 50cfm. I don't know you're going to find many cuemakers with a compressor that can produce THAT. I have to assume their 1.7 wants more...

I couldn't find the cfm consumption specs, but I would guess in the 4-6 range with a 3/8" line. Thats what I hooked it up to and the exhaust didn't seem to crazy. Probably less than my 3/4" impact. I have a 6 hp 80 gallon compressor and when it kicked on it started to gain on it, not fast but it was gaining.

That .9hp router is basically a 1/4" die grinder, and there is no way it consumes 50 cfm. it must be a typo or something. i've got a half dozen dotco 1/4" 22000rpm and 3/8" 12000rpm grinders and I can free rev them without depleating my compressor.

I called one of their suppliers and ALL of their tools quoted as air hogs. Their 1/8 die grinder was 9 cfm and their 1/4 was 19 with a smaller motor. They quoted me...again 50 cfm for the 1.7 hp unit.

Maybe you will find better info than me.
 
When I was still working on airplanes I bought a couple of their drills. They're some of the best drills to be found. The pistol drill I have is very quiet with loads of torque. If I had a compressor that could drive it, I'd love to have it.
