Doug Carter Stroke Trainer? WTB? Maybe

lol good point.... I read several good reviews on it and need a way to get some pool reps in on the days I can't get to a pool table which apparently is doable with the apparatus.... Looked and couldn't find but a few pictures that really didn't seem to tell the story of what it is and how it works......

Just use the search feature on AZB :)

This is a different type of stroke trainer http://billiards.about.com/od/accessories/gr/StrokeTrainer.htm you could make it in a few minutes with some spare wood and a piece of pvc.

Enjoy :)

The Stroke trainer was/is an aluminum bed hinged in the middle. Another piece of aluminum sets perpendicular on one side and depending on which model either two sticks on an aluminum eyelet on the opposing end. The pieces were adjustable on the X and Y plane to fit your body and stroke. I think the sticks as a guide were added to facilitate a pre shot routine instead of the eyelet. That way you would come down through the sticks instead of starting with your cue back to far. You would move the pieces around until they held your stroke straight and then you stroked back and forth trying to develop muscle memory with the trainer helping your form. I bought the second one Doug made many years ago loaned it out when I quit playing for several years and haven’t seen it since. If you get the chance buy the one with the Sticks as the front guide. I haven’t seen Doug in years if I run into him ill find out if he’s still making them.

Hope this helps,

Matthew

I made an earlier post in this thread... I am now adding a picture.

The unit I have is a later model of the one shown in the picture. The model I have is painted gloss black. It is new. It can be purchased for $125 plus shipping (shipped in cardboard container) or You can add a nice ABS plastic case for another $25.

Shipping is about $22 with insurance.
