Maybe........I'm always compelled by money. Have 1" and 1.5 cutters..
Buy one of these. I did about 200 shaft squares a good while back. Works great once u get it dialed in and figured out and takes up alot less space for no more than what you would use it.
Takes about 10-15 seconds per shaft square to take to 1" rounds
I just do that last few inches on lathe once start taking taking passes with the lathe.
