You mentioned that the 30° Rule does not work as well arout 40° and up. Have you ever worked with the "included" 90° angle to predict the cue ball path--sighting the carom angle, and then aiming to cut the 1st ball at 90° to that line (or thereabouts, considering follow/draw off the tangent line)?

The 30° Rule works well over the full range between a 3/4-ball hit (14.5°) and a 1/4-ball hit (48.6°).

The 3-Times-the-Angle system for draw works only for cut angles less than 40°.

No. That doesn't sound very accurate. Are you thinking about back-of-the-ball aiming instead?
 
Ah, I must have mis-remembered what part you were speaking about--I watched through it video yesterday, and even then, I am often dividing my attention when online.

And no, not considering the back-of-the-ball aiming, although I am/was aware of it.

Finally *nevermind*--I should have realized you had covered it somewhere--I was looking for a diagram and found your document on what I was talking about. I was thinking about the 90° Rule as being like an optional way to determine the cue ball path, and since I was reacting to the video, I didn't go search separately right away.

Sorry I didn't realize you where asking about the 90° Rule stun/tangent line. Yes. I have used that before. 🤓
