Dr. Dave Chalk shootout😃

I won't even try taom if I had the chance... Because I'm simply not paying that
I get that people don’t want to try an “overpriced“ piece of chalk, but I can’t figure out why they care about the people that do.

As many have pointed out, users feel that they’re cleaner. That’s the selling point for me. I don’t mind spending $20 bucks a year for a piece of chalk, and I don’t buy my wife perfume at Dollar General. Do what you want.

Are you saying that the Taom chalk you tried has such a consistency? You are the first to say that here. Perhaps it's really Kamui you tried.

Kamui leave an impression on anyone who tries it.

Messsy.

Greasy.

Just nasty.

Clogs Tip.

Last you can clean up with Lava Soap, or clean Brillo Pad.

Lucky me got to try Kamui, thanks you FAST LARRY.😁

Well $20.00 is an amount of money I will drop at Cigar Club Night, dinner, couple of beers, couple of cigars, and last cost of moving from point Home toMeeting location, and back.

Super premium Chalk ahold last longer then evening out.

I don't think toam is a great chalk I got one and it stinked for me. Doesnt hold well on the cueball and their colors are not great on the blue, I got two type of blues toam which is all what they got and both stain the table pretty bad. I currently use the cheap white chalk from seyberts they are the best chalks I think for the money and I never miscue and they do not stain the shaft or table....forgot the brand name but its paper wrap is white and is cheap just like Masters....I think i paid 5 or 6 bucks for a whole box.
Glad I can return this stuff if I need to. I ordered the pyro and have 860hr blue cloth. If it stains that's a no go and will be going back.

You won't be returning it. I have a great many hours with it on my TB 860hr and it doesn't stain. You quoted the only post in this thread that says it stains. The only chalk better than the Pyro is the v10.

Does the V10 show on the tournament blue cloth? I may pick this up try both out and send back the one I don't like thru Amazon. I like my chalk to match it's an OCD thing I can't control it.

This thread is just stupid. Everone can use whatever chalk they want.
But if you watch pool and snooker now from TV or stream probably 60-80% pros use Taom now. And over time more and more. 95% of those pros are not sponsored by Taom. They use it because it remove skids. One skid can be loss of match in high level.
How many of you think thet use it because hype? I answer.. 0%

Pros are paying bills of winning, they want every possibliy in their favor. Plus I am sure they get sample Chalk,

Everyone should want every chance of winning.

Some people are just happy to be able to play Pool, other I get strive to win.

In life you can enter a Marathon to say i rams 26 miles, but some people will never be first unless the other runners die in Race.

Vince Lombardi said something bright about winning, but there was price on table.

That price is $24 a cube😂

Ok, so if Taom is the bestest ever since introduction to the market. Can someone in the know break down the differences between:
  • Pyro
  • 2.0
  • V10
No hate, just curiousity. If I'm paying blood money for a piece of chalk I want it to match my playing surface. Two versions available in blue, the other only green. Don't care about the reasoning behind the colours. Only the charactistics that differentiate between the offerings.

Thanks

Like so much in the pool community, there is some very good marketing out there.
If you buy the one type of Taom chalk you may be curious enough to buy a different kind of Taom chalk.
Can't be a one trick pony.
Take Predator, the king of pool marketing.
If you like their players, you may try their breakers, then their newest shaft, and their chalk.
Then if you like that stuff you may try one of their cases and then a set of their pool balls, etc.

Perhaps you can find your answer here.
I am a master chalk guy.
KISS, keep it simple stupid.

I may be wrong, but believe the Pyro came after 2.0. The v10, available only in green, is their newest chalk new and is billed as their most improved version. Hard for me to describe the differences but I find the Pyro is great and the v10 better.

Thanks for the feedback. I paid a few $ extra to go thru Amazon prime for convenience and just in case I don't like it I can return. I wanted the V10 since it's the newest formulation but I was turned off by the color of chalk. Do you see any green at all on the cloth? That would drive me absolutely bonkers on my tournament blue table
I play on tournament blue cloth. You notice no green whatsoever on the cloth, CB, ferrule, hands, etc. It's clean. It doesn't do the "cloud of chalk" thing upon contact that most chalks do, even on break speed, jump shots, masse and such. Just clean cue ball and cloth.

I was hesitant about getting it since it was green, but it really isn't an issue. If anything I remind myself that green is the color of money so it's appropriate for it to be on the tip. :)

Well if what his name, Jason who set 14:1 Record was using Blue Diamond, or another brand the buzz would be different.

It’s like some fisherman longing record Bass, everyone wantS to know, Rod, Reel, Line, what color & brand plastic worm?

Its all hype, lucky angle spend how much time in water?
