i like tony too. actually its the first time ive seen him play pool. i have seen him hundreds of times play snooker, but never pool. was a nice match. high standard.

anyway , i got a question.

in one of the frames, tony does a pushout, and harriman goes for a bank on the 1. he used a technique i dont know. ive heared people talk about it, and ive seen it, but i dont fully get it. how do you avoid the dubble kiss on this shot? like tony, im a former snookerplay and this is a typical poolshot. can anyone explain me? thnx in advance

Looks like he hit it pretty naturally, possibly overcutting just a skootch, but stiffed it a little by hitting it hard.

He hit it hard and used inside english.

I watched him cueing up from above and it didn't look like he even used English, instead letting the speed shorten it up.

He lined up center and when he hit the ball he pivoted to inside english. Watch his cue, it pivots to the left.

so the inside english shortens the angle? so he can cut the ob more so no double kiss happens? am i correct? ill have to work on this shot !!

You are correct, you can overcut with inside english and it in effect moves the bank line down the rail. Just the opposite of undercutting with outside english and letting the spin widen out the angle.
