Dragon Skin Handle

[QMAKER]

Hi all: Thought I would post these pics here, as they might be of interest
to fellow cuemakers, as well as to cueists. I got the idea for this handle
design from a Japanese potter when I was in Kyoto, Japan. He called it
"DORAGON SUKIN" (dragon skin). This is my first attempt at making dragon skin.
The metal is copper on a background of white, red and blue Japan paints.
The finish is not completed as of yet.

That's some one of a kind wand bud.
VERY unique cue .
I was thinking how complicated the copper would be to put a finish on.
My bad, on that bad joke. I was inferring to Dave.

Hi Joey: Actually I was just pulling YOUR leg. While I was working on that cue Dave came by about 3 times a day. The finish wasn't that bad to apply. I started with a coat of my mixture of tung, linseed and varnish to seal the cue and the copper. I then sprayed (dirty word) with lacquer and dipped in polycarbonate urethane. two or three more dips and it will be as smooth as silk. I started another one with silver on a black and red background. This time I will spray just the handle with lacquer to maintain the shine and then
proceed with my normal finish. Stop by when you get a chance.
