Why is it that I can draw and apply top for a long distance on one table and not on another with a different cloth and cue ball?

Maybe you are suffering from the same problem I am working on fixing right now. On the long shots I tend to drop or raise the cue depending what i am trying to do and hit the QB with centerball. It could be a mental thing to where you are use to the other tabe and are worried about not preformign as well on this table as you do on the other. Lastnight while I was playing I went back to what i use to do 2 weeks ago. And I shot my best pool i think I have ever shot. I didnt lose a game. Even thought my friend Anthony who can kill me dumped on the 8 ball trying to 4 rail it instead of just pocketing it. He likes hitting me with 4 railers. and then i played about 12 games of 9 ball which is my fave game and won 12 racks running 3-4 balls at a time, one rack i had a shot with the QB at one end and the OB at the other. I never drew a Qb that far before in my life and it was because i was confident in my stroke lastnight.

With each table and cloth being different, you need to make slight adjustments. Most of the time when playing with a "mud" QB or a "magnetic" QB you are unable to draw it so you have to adjust your shots, which means you have to adjust your approach angle, which means you have to adjust your pattern play a little. You will find it much more rewarding to use follow with a "mud or magnetic" QB. Some cloth plays slow, some plays fast. Look down the rail and look to see if theres a STRAIGHT line worn in the cloth, that will give you a pretty good reading that the table rolls straight along the rails. Look to see if theres a QB pattern worn in the cloth when breaking, that will give you a hint also. Check out the angle of the pockets, this will help you determine if you have to hit the back of the pocket or can use the rail just before the pocket.
Best of Luck!!
