Drawing and post processing with Mastercam

Does anyone use Mastercam. I have version 8 that I acquired from my brother who recently passed away. Anyway, I have the mill, lathe, and design feature with it. My question is, can I draw in say the mill part and post process from there or is there some other way that I must use. I just need some basic advise and Ill learn from there. Thanks for any help in advance.

I have version X and am on a class right now.
On version X, you can draw there then do the post process and then save the NC codes ( G codes ).
I don't know how behind version 8 is but on X, you can pretty much do it all.
You can edit the G-codes on the controller or some software like NCEdit.
