I don't think we can rule out the possibility of existence of other valid excuses. We will have to review them on a case-by-case basis.

For instance, one comes to mind that could be valid:

#4 - Being held prisoner in a pit in someone's basement (as long as said pit does NOT contain a pool table).

I would be willing to consider that a reasonable cause for "non-participation" (of course documentation/tangible proof of this MUST be provided to tournament officials).

Perhaps there are other valid excuses??? Any thoughts???

Yes I think that is a valid point Willie, however I think it reasonable to assume anyone held captive in a pit under someone’s home or any other yet undetermined valid excuses would not have internet access provided while their captor was tending to his moths.

Therefore anyone posting in any AZB forum during the tournament will have a very high burden of proof that :

#1 they were in fact being held captive in a pit (or other excuse deemed valid)

AND

#2 they were provided internet access for the duration of the captivity but NOT provided access to a pool table.

I propose these measures be considered:

The expense of the investigation to assemble proof of such an unlikely series of events must be borne by the “non-participant” in question and subject to a formal review by a board consisting of “players with game”.

In the event of a favorable review of evidence by the board the official status of “non-participant” could be erased but the poster will not be known as a “player with game” until such time as they participate in a sanctioned DMMHT event.
