Dropping Elbow

Alison Fischer does not drop her elbow ? I thought I saw video where she does on stronger shots with follow through.

Out of the hundreds if not thousands of videos I own and have seen over the years I have never seen Alison Fischer drop her elbow once... including the link you posted...

what I consider dropping your elbow is when your forearm ends up parallel to the slate...

which is what I see most of the top 10 pros do on shots that have a lot of follow through...

My point is only that out of all the pros I have seen to date; Alison Fischer has the best text book fundamentals of all of them...

I am in agreement with others herein that having a perfect 90 degree pendulum swing is not a prerequisite to playing good pool...
although it is a good thing to start with and strive for most of the time...

I am of the opinion that a perfect pendulum stroke hinders a smooth stroke & follow through because in my opinion you are consciously preventing yourself from following through; thus leading to a poky... Alan Hopkins kind of stroke... works for him, but IMHO he is the exception to the norm...

take a look at hall of famers Steve Mizerak, Willie Mosconi, Irving Crane, Luther Lassiter or Mike Sigel these guys had some of the most beautiful strokes I have ever seen and all of them dropped their elbows frequently...

Absorb what is useful (to you as an individual) ... Bruce Lee

Allen drops his elbow considerably.

Allison has the best mechanics I've ever seen, of any player man or woman... agreed. She drops occasionally--- albeit slightly.

Agree Spidey,

in my opinion Allison and Jasmin Ouschan are standing for perfect technics. I could watch Jasmin nonstop. Wonderful example where good fundamentals and willing to practice can bring you!
