Not for nothing.. but there are Falcon / SW tributes and FC? also making the SW look (from the same seller)... So you going to boycott Falcon? But that would mean since Falcon was making / still making predator butts, wouldn't you then have to boycott Predator also. That would make sense, let Predator pressure Falcon if they are a sub supplier.. oh wow.. come on back to regular shaftdom... Who would put their game on hold just to boycott a few cues? How has the real balls to back it up?

There's always going to be different of opinion on this issue...personally I don't understand why people would be pissed about these design from Dufferin or Falcon? Now, if these design are exact identical with "Lambros" or "RC3" logo on them then that would be an issue.
But, clearly these "Copy" with Dufferin or Falcon logo are just that. If they play as well as Lambros or RC3 then it mean "Lambros" and "RC3" cue are not that special but clearly that's the case. So why would anyone be pissed...it's not like they are taking away the market for "RC3" or "Lambros" cues. If that was the case than Mike and Richard have bigger concern than design theft.
Do you really think guys that buy these cues would hurt "Lambros" or RC3 market? I actually think these cues help promote the original cues and increase their intrinsic value. If anything, this is more of a compliment to the builders and probably will make Lambros and Richard cues more appealing and valuable. Southwest is the prime example of how the original cue value has increased drastically because of it's promotion due to all the design "theft" from production companies and custom cue makers all around the world. Well..the playability of their cues also help...but Richard and Lambros cue plays just as solid as SW....so I Think it time to add RC3 and Lambros to your collection

For all you know the project was commissioned by someone in the US (who's not chinese...eg McDermott, Viking, Predator, etc, etc) and build for them by Chinese in China. We have Chinese living all over the world....just don't understand why race alway seem to be drawn into these debates. Just label the issue as is.....anyone could be doing this.

I'm sure that the $200.00 cue will sell more than the $2K but how many people can afford a $2K cue? All the guys who buy the $200 cue would probably want the $2K cue...so they can't afford it now but doesn't mean they can't later. My point is you get what you pay for...and if design like RC3 and Lambros are mass marketed....you will increase the market value for the Real Deal RC3 and Lambros cues. Demand for RC3/Lambros will increase and Supply will be the same....= higher prices for RC3/ Lambros.

I can say all top Cuemakers are almost equally good. One of the things that set this CM aparts are their own designs. If all this cue maker are building Rasputin every months, will that not affect the market price?Cuemaster98 said:

Not all cues from a cue maker will ever hit the same.

Hmm...they should all hit fairly close. All the cues that I've played with from Bill Stroud, Joel Weinstock, Tascarella and many other plays they way they should with the exception of different components which will have different feel (eg. ivory vs SS joint).

If I'm a cue enthusiast and owning the same design copied by Dufferin, the first thing I would do is to get rid of it.

Real SW enthusiast / Collector, can identify a fake without touching the cue. He might get it wrong maybe 2 out of 10 try.
Also one thing about SW is most of the SW shaft tend to have a lesser deflection on the cue ball than standard shaft. Not as good as a 314 but somewhere in the range of a Hybrid Pro 1 dept. I guess it must be a 314 substitute a decade ago. :grin:
SW is just another level higher than a higher than a plain Jane. It's like comparing cue with hoppe ring and four points cue with venneers. So we can't use that as a comparison. The fancy SW JV posted, is something which we can compare. That I can say is a 100% photocopy.
