seems like a reasonable question to me.
I dunno if this is a helpful answer, I'm not a cue guy, but I searched and found at least one JnJ cue is 5/16 x 18. I don't know if that means all of them will be.

On the JnJ site, they offer OB shafts, I bet they'd be glad to sell you one and will make sure it's the correct fitting (at least if you do it over the phone)
