Dunkle Cues

I am inclined to comment on my Dunkle Cue. About three years ago I received a cue that Steve built for me, I had sent him a piece of wood and requested a simple cue. Steve felt guilty because he was having equipment issues and did more than I had requested. He provided some simple but VERY NICE ivory inlays that were over and above what the original plans were. When Steve sent me the cue he mentioned at least at that time the leather wrap was probably the best he’d done to that date. Over the years I have had some cues built for me by what many would consider the best, Gus, Barry, Schlick, Bender, Herschek,Southwest, etc. Many were more elenorate but I can honestly say that the cue Steve built for me would play with any of them. I can also state that the wrap and fittings are just as level and smooth after spending at least three years in Alaska as they were the day I received it. I play the cue a lot as it is currently my only cue and although it has no metal rings in it the rings it does have are still perfect. Running my hand from butt to joint I feel no transition at all. Steve also built me one of his low deflection shafts that I love. I don’t know what Steve’s repution on this forum is but in my option Steve makes a cue that will play with ANYONES!

I can attest to that. I have a Dunkle cue, and have ordered extra shafts from him. He takes great pride in his work.

Only cue I've hit of his was a Titlist conversion with a Gus Szamboti shaft. That cue played lights out.
