Going to WPBA tournament on 9/9-14 in Durham. Have list of pool rooms but does someone know of a nice one near:

Durham Marriott Convention Center
201 Foster Street
Durham, North Carolina 27701

Need a nice one as I am practicing with some of the ladies of the tour before they can access their tournament tables.

Thanks,

Petard

Your best bet is to go to On The Snap in Fuquay Varina... they have 10 9-foot brand new Diamond Pro-Ams and use Aramith tv sets on tournament blue Simonis.

Oscars

Oscars is close by in Chapel Hill and has very nice tables. You can't go wrong here. Its about 15 minutes from the tourney site.

oscars has big G gandys in good condition as of a year ago. should be a 15 minute drive from you. You could try jump shots, but the tables are hit and miss - definitely a couple of good tables though.

Outside and in it rates about a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. But the staff is friendly and the tables play perfect, Gold Crowns with Simonis.

I've been there, it is nice. But...it's like three hours away from Durham.

Babineu`s on BuckJones road in Cary.25-30miles drive is not a big deal. The place has good tables, food and pretty waitresses.Next door u have Ruth Chris`s steak house.
Raleigh/Durham/Cary called research triangle.too many yankees there.
Durham is low class and it sucks.cary is upper class and u will like the place.

Babineau's Billiards

Babineau's has gold crown 4s with Simonis 860. Open 11am to 2am daily. Daytime rates are 2.00 per hr or 5.00 all day until 6p. Ruth Chris steakhouse has moved but has been replaced by Rey,s which is owned by the former Ruth Chris GM. They are located next door. No Diamonds. I wouldn't think the ladies would want to practice on Diamonds seeing they'll be playing on Brunswicks this weekend. They do play differently. Take 40 west out of Durham and tale exit 293a in Cary follow the signs for Buck Jones road. Kelly Fisher, Val Finnie and Janet Atwell have all played here and said they really enjoyed their time here.

Went to the Green Room tonight; great suggestion as his is a real pool room. Ewe Laurance is is giving an exhibition tomorrow night and was there a day early to get a good seat and check security for her. Met some great people and the tables were fine; no diet cokes though; thanks

Glad you liked it

It's a very unique place. Hard to believe that the tables are level and the floor is extremely unlevel. When I was there people had their dogs inside with them. Kinda weird but they were well behaved. The shuffleboard is another throwback to the old days.

That's cool about Eva being there.

best regards........Paul

Mike is one of the most amazing people you will ever meet. Sit down and have a conversation with him if you ever get a chance.
