Any news if diamond has found a new supplier for their Dymondwood?

the factory was rebuilt and is now making Dymond wood. They're waiting on a press large enough to make rails. Should be up and running soon. They will need to check the samples for quality before they go back into production.

Great news! Thanks!

I gave up on waiting for dymondwood. I ordered a table in cherry with cherry stain. I hope it looks close.

Just was told the Indiana firm has just finished tweaking their process (better cooling system in their press) and should have a sample sheet done any day now...then, assuming the samples meet Diamond's standards, production. I was just about to give up and change up to hardwood or even the flat black pressed paper/phenolic rail caps, but will continue to hold out for the rosewood finish dymondwood. I only get to spend this much on a pool table once, it needs to be what/how I want it.

I spoke to them last week and I was told they have not received any samples. Sucks that I have the money now and I can't get exactly what I want....

I just got my cherry wood cherry stain pro am. I wanted dymondwood but am not dissappointed with the cherry at all. I think it looks better and am glad that I got it instead.

Finally got worn down...would like to shoot on my table sometime this century. :( Changed my order to Oak/Cherry stain, they sent me photos of that and the black phenolic from their warehouse, and the Oak/cherry stain looks very close to what I wanted in dymondwood. I've played on oak Diamond tables for 20 years, they hold up pretty good in a commercial environment, my garage should be fine (especially now that it's clear and dry walled). I'll post good pics as soon as it's set up. :)

Are the us open tables brand new? If so, looks like Dymondwood on the tv table

Finally got it!

Well, the boys just left, having set me up with my new Diamond ProAm, oak with cherry finish.

Pockets are 4 3/8", nice and tight. Table rolls great and is very nice (although Diamond tough) to play on. The Cyclop balls roll true and no kicks yet after about 20 racks. More to follow, still need to put up the LED flat light and some runners on the floor surrounding the table. Plenty of space...
I got black epoxy logos on each end instead of white, although I broke down and put the white decals on for now. The finish really looks good.

Congrats on your new table, it looks great!!! I hope you are wearing out your cue shaft playing on it. I am assuming since you have a ball box you also have a ball return?? Even though 9' Diamonds and Gold Crowns both have 50" x 100" playing surface the Diamond feels like a bigger table when you are standing in front of it playing. Has anyone else ever felt or noticed that?

Yeah, they finished the install and left at 6:30 pm...I snuck into bed at around 1:00 am. :o My wife predicts I'll get over it soon...after 24 years of marriage I amazed at how little she knows me! :p

It's nice when your dreams come true. Beautiful table...enjoy! Yes, your sleep will suffer from having that in your home.

Noticed two things from your pictures.

The first was your Newsheriffintwn extension on your cue. Hopefully mine will be here soon.

The second was the offset of the legs with respect to the concrete floor on the garage door end. Looks to be 2-3 inches at that end. Have you noticed any difference when playing similar shots from both ends?

Enjoy.

Yes, love the extension...the drop from end to end is about 2.5 inches. And to be honest I really don't notice it. Still waiting on the light (next day or two), but until then I'm okay with the 150 watt LED bulb over the table...hell, I'd shoot in the dark if that was all there was! ;)

Let there be light...

And now I can see the edges of the balls! Installed an LED light care of Brian Butler (Bbutler). Works great!
