was the 8 ball still black as well as the cue ball? That sounds like it would be confusing as hell.
I know people don't like colour changes in general, but feel like the cue ball being white and the 8 ball being black are the 2 most fundamental colours that should never be changed. Even people that don't like cue sports know what colour those balls should be.

Centennials should be the standard!
The best design feature of this Titan set is the Centennial (or Predator) style numbers in the white part of the striped balls. However, due to the bumble-bee style of the 9 this is lost on a tv screen. Players who prefer playing 8 ball may shun this set because of that 9.
My personal opinion is that they should've offered one cue ball and included a white/yellow 9 ball, to match the rest of the stripes. There are seperate Dyna cueballs for sale already. Then they could've still included the Cyclop-style money ball to round off a 17 ball set.
FWIW, I have no sympathy with Shaw for his 2 ball oversight. The players apparently had practice time with the new sets beforehand.

Good idea for the extra 9ball.
Here is another idea, if it’s a WNT set and ment to be used for 9ball, why pay for 15 balls?
Offer a cheap 9ball set with only 1-9 balls and a small case to carry them

Fair point well made. One has to wonder if a white/yellow 9 ball will be available individually at a later date.
Now that I see the 9-ball has a black stripe on it, I like it. I've always liked the blackened 9 for visibility/differentiation (not so much any of the other stripes).
That's the only good thing I can say about this set. They've continued with the purple 5, which is an atrocity. The 6 is....I mean if you want to go with the pastel colors, a la the Cyclop skittles set, that's one thing, but at least keep the general approximation of the traditional colors. Make the 6 a light green. As for the cue ball...don't start going down the Predator path of stamping your logos everywhere.

edit: ok with more contrast against the 2 I guess the 6 is green, but it's about as non-green as a green can be, at least in most pictures I've seen. Still yuck.

I was really hoping when I opened this they would be announcing the new Challenger set as the WNT standard.
Good looking set with traditional colors. I think I like the Bronze / Vanadium traditional colors fat font look better plus the black triangle cue ball.
The real question is why is the Vanadium set $38 more than the Challenger given very similar styles, colors and the same specs including their universal resin compund?
I caught the beginning of a Window's Open podcast earlier today with Molina Mike and Mike Panozzo, which shed some light on the topic. It was said that Simonis cloth went with Predator, and usually Aramis sticks with Simonis, which may be why Matchroom WNT went with a new ball sponsor.

Lol I like them but I’m not like the closed minded people that seem to be on this forum that freak out. Serious someone said they couldn’t figure out the lay out? I’m of average intelligence and with a rack I would see the color of the balls with corresponding number. It’s not that hard lol people acting like it’s the end of the world.
They are spending money as a sponsor . Of course they are going to use a set that sticks out.

isn't skittle colors their thing? DCC had them for 4-5 years, maybe more. iirc players complained about their inconsistency

In English Pool Ultimate Pool were using Strachan cloth with Aramith balls, but they've moved to the CPBA/Dynasphere combo too. Not sure if there is any connection between CPBA and Dynasphere or if they just both happen to be making aggressive business moves at the same time. Think there are rumours ex-Aramith employees were involved in setting up Dynasphere (read they were designed in Belgium and manufactured in China), whilst CPBA are Chinese.

I get you, and yes, go to the money, sponsor, or wherever the revenue flow is legit.
...you know what I mean... The however is, and I guess I can only speak for myself, after playing pool since the late 60's (old fart) I scan the table and don't usually look at the numbers, especially in 8 ball, and that solid nine would surely get me.I understand wanting to make TV a better medium especially for revenue, for a while they even tried following hockey pucks with a 'halo'; that didn't work out. I suppose with some use I could get used to the new colors but it does mess with my head, no Alzheimer's yet - that I remember
. BUT to me an orange 5 Ball is mandatory, JMHO.
