Earl at the Derby

I believe that this is incorrect. I think it's a small field event in Stage 2 and it's hard to imagine any top pro going there just to try to get in the main draw by playing in Stage 1.

I hope you're correct. However, I also wouldn't expect a lot of top players to miss the Derby and fly across the globe for a Chinese 8 ball event on unusual (to American pool players) equipment that makes it exceedingly difficult for them to do well. Maybe there are appearance fees being paid and expenses being covered in addition to the possible prize money. I'll miss Earl, Thorsten, and Darren at the Derby but it's still shaping up to be a hell of an event as always.

thanks for the help/info! (i didn't know the dates) glad his ass will be back in the US by FEB 4.

i will also add, that eventhough the plane tickets to China might be $500-$1500 more, the hotels & food are a lot less. maybe the expenses even out vs DCC odds?

My understanding is that Earl will miss the Derby in favor of attending the Chinese 8-ball event. Same thing for Appleton, Hohmann and Deuel.
