Well, the seller -- from FLORIDA -- is offering free shipping for this piece of Earl memorabilia, beginning price starting at 300 bucks. :p

It's kind of funny on eBay, as the product listing says "broken pool cue." :D

The guy who wrote this description has a 100-percent good rating, and he throws in a couple Earl perks: ...This Item will be fully insured as part of the shipping cost. He is one of my all-time favorite pool players. He is also a great person. If you know anything about pool Earl is one of the greatest pool players ever in the history of the game. This item will come with Additional autographed card from Earl Strickland.

Just to add a little color to the thread, here's the 16-second video clip of the actually incident: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVXb7-xSLfo

P.S. As you're enjoying the video clip, listen to the Europeans blowing air horns and screaming "COME ON, THOMAS. COME ON, THOMAS. COME ON, THOMAS." Horrible playing conditions for Team America at the Mosconi Cup in Europe. I think I am going to bring some air horns to the U.S. Open this year and toot it loudly every time an American makes a good shot.

P.S., P.S. As a matter of fact, I hereby respectfully request that all Americans bring air horns to the U.S. Open this year. Let's see how well accepted it is by the players who are competing on foreign soil to have the whole house pulling against them, every single move, pounding drums, blowing air horns, and screaming at the top of their lungs, "COME ON, EARL. COME ON, EARL. COME ON, EARL. USA, ALL THE WAY. USA, ALL THE WAY. USA, ALL THE WAY!"
They are totally into it.Maybe thats what you americans should do,get crazy, get loud, thats what pool should be about. The louder the better.
This was the first year at the b.c.a. pro event where I actually saw some emotion in the crowd, they cheered for their favorite player,it was great to finally see some emotion from the crowd in the states.
YOU guys have to blow the shit out of this place, when corey,shane,archer,schmidt,O.K. earl if he is sane and the list goes on and on.And edwin cause he is a bud the best player in canada(plug)gets up to shoot and runs the table, you guys better go crazy.Exactly what JAM said. This is the U.S. OPEN,where our fellow A.Z.er John Schmidt won.Beat the best in the world.Reighning champion of the U.S. OPEN.:D
YOU guys have to blow the shit out of this place, you rule the world so why not rule the POOL WORLD.I want to see the U.S. crowd go wild.
IT'S WHAT POOL NEEDS!!!
HAVE FUN WITH IT.:D

As a visitor of the Mosconi Cup in the Netherlands I have to say that the admosphere was great for both teams. I was visiting both teams behind the scene and they loved playing with this crowd.

Although we clearly supported the European team we had the greatest respect for team USA and showed that every time they made a nice shot or won a match.

True that some people in the crowd were less friendly against Earl but there is a big history between him and the Dutch players Niels Feijen and Nick vd Berg. Still the crowd was trying to be respectfull but Earl crossed the line by smashing his cue after missing a shot.

I hope that the US fans can have a simular atmosphere when the Mosconi Cup is in America.

BTW Team Europe will kick ass 8-13 for Team Europe!

The Jerry Springer Show looks tame compared to this audience at this Mosconi Cup: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyLcGY4twOE

Even the referee warned spectators that they would be escorted to leave because the noise level was so loud.

After Nick Van den Berg won the match, Earl shook his hand and patted him on the back. Thereafter, Nick's team mates picked him up and threw him up in the air as if they were at a rock concert.

Then the next match, the crowd began to chant even louder, blowing air horns, beating on drums, stomping the ground with their feet, and screaming at the top of their lungs.

My question after looking at the pics. What is the vote on whether or not it is fiberglass or wood. Seems to be some blueing and splintering but wouldn't even a fiberglass coating break in chips or shatter with cracks.
Just fishing here what do you all think.

I was thinking the same thing. Though I seem to remember reading somewhere on here Earl had the fiberglass coating removed from his shafts.
