Earl Strickland "Walks" at BCA Exhibition?

re : Earl

well said mark! Earl is arguably the best 9 ball player in history, hes definitely got my respect! and i hope to meet him some day, so that i can shake his hand! long may he continue!

I tell ya, it seems Earl just can't get a break. It seems nomatter what he does there is always a couple of people that want to make him the bad guy. No wonder he gets pissed off sometimes.

I agree 100%.

I can only specualte why Earl sometimes exhibits less than admirable behavior (and this case is apparently not one of them). IMO, tons of people over the years have shredded off bits of his flesh; this false and unflattering OP being just a smalltime example. Soak soak soak. Take take take. Jab jab jab. Bleed bleed bleed. At some point he must have looked around and said "what's left for me and what's left of me?" It seems rather easy to see why he may seem bitter, eccentric and act unruly at times. Those few for whom he'll drop his guard get to see the person - the genuine, gentle, turtle lovin', funny, decent man.

For a first year of the BCAPL Southwest Regional, we were happy, not extatic, but happy with the numbers. We do hope that the event grows as there is a real need for something likes this in the Southwest Region.

:) We will take all the constructive input and as we do with all events, review to see what was good, what can be improved and what we would like to ad that we may not have thought of before to make the event better. That is what CSI is about, producing fair and honest events that win, lose or draw, the players walk out of there saying the look forward to the next CSI event. I think with the professional and wonderful work of Bad Boys Billiard Productions and all those involved this goal was accomplished.

About Earl...not only is he one of the best to ever hold a cue, he is purely about the game, as many have attested in this thread. He and I at times have disagreed, but have always really gotten along. He is no one's "Yes man" nor does he expect anyone to be his "yes man". He respects those who respect him. He's also been learning to ignore better those jerks who like to push people's buttons. He is a gentleman and honest. He loves this sport and is in a renaissance.
