Earl Strickland's Pool Cues

Gate City

Silver Member
I am the owner of Gate City Billiards Club in Greensboro, NC. Earl's home Pool Room for the last 2 years. I am selling 3 of Earl's Gulyassy pool cues. All three of these were used by Earl in various tournaments, one of which in the 2009 US Open 9-Ball.

Below is a picture of all three.

  1. Dark w/o Tennis Grip (Used in US Open 9-Ball for breaking)
  2. Blonde Wood
  3. Dark with Tennis Grip

Each cue will have two standard shafts. The 1st one sold I will add a break shaft and the 2nd one I will add a third regular shaft. All shafts have Earl's taper as they were custom made to his specifications.

I am offering them on AZ Billiards before I list them on EBay. None of these will go for less than $1,000, here or on EBay.

If you are interested, either reply to this post, or send me a private message.

Who would buy one of Earls cues seeing the way he mistreats his cues in the recent match against Shane on the TAR stream.

Oh I'm sure there will be no shortage of people interested in buying a cue that was once owned/used by Earl. You on the other hand, for no reason whatsoever, and totally unprovoked, totally hijacked the sellers thread by having to throw your own meaningless two cents in. "If ya have a problem with 'em, then don't buy 'em!"
Good luck with the sale sir.

Ditto Dave. Mike G. makes a great cue. Like Ron said, who knows they may play so good that they run out on their own.

I got to play with the tennis wrap cue, hits em good. And no, it wasn't split or shaped like a banana. In fact, it was pretty clean from head to toe.

I agree with you totally and don't think your comment is hijacking anything. As a potential buyer your stating a fact by what you witnessed when he was playing Shane that he mistreated his cues and would be a concern to any potential buyer that the cues were in steller shape before purchasing. The overall conditions were not mentioned so I would have the same concern as a potential buyer.I hope they do sell and are probably great cues but if someone has a opinion that has merrit I see nothing wrong with that.Takecare:)

It's pretty obvious that he's not a potential buyer. It's a very simple process. See title of thread, click, become interested or un-interested. Have questions? Ask publicly or send pm. Not interested? Walk away. I didn't see his comments as suggesting in any way that he was interested in buying anything. Otherwise, there would have been something like "Hey, what kind of condition are they in?" Instead, he implied that they might not be in the best of condition which to me is hijacking a sellers thread.

If thats the case then even complimenting his cues should be done on a pm.Your giving your opinion which might be right or wrong but you certainly are entitled to it.Just because his comment didn't mesh with your mind set doesn't mean he should be bashed for stating his opinion does it?He only implied the possible condition do to the fact that the guy who used them is known to treat his cues like a red headed step child.:wink:Goodnight

Can u post the specs ? I know he have shoot with some crazy shit 70 " and like 26 oz . Thanks and good luck with your sale

Gatecity I apologize for my previous post that I made about the cues. I didn't mean any harm. I was just stating what I saw when Earl was playing Shane in the TAR match. It wasn't meant to harm your sale. Please accept my sincere apology. Good luck with your sale

Wow!

With all the Earl threads everywhere, he must be the real...

"Most interesting man in the world..."

Good luck with your sale!

FYI, all of the cues and shafts are in great shape. They are good quality cues and shoot beautifully. However, the main value of these cues are that they were owned and used by one of the greatest players in the history of this game. Love him or hate him. I doubt if these cues will ever lose value.

Do we have any bidders? Last chance before I move them to ebay.

I would be interested in his white Cuetec he used to run 11 racks, or his black and white Cuetec he won the world championship with.

These cues are standard length, with the very long tapper and about 17oz without the tennis grip and almost 19oz with it.
