Earl vs Shane. Another sweating option.

I know there's been a ton of talk about the upcoming Earl/Shane match. I've seen lots of opinions and the consensus seems to be that Earl can't get there. I'd like to see someone make a line that's something other than odds on the money. I'm thinking something along the lines of Earl doesn't 70 or Earl Does 75. Pick which way you want to bet and lay some juice. If Earl gets to 71,72,73 or 74. The "house" wins all bets. I'd almost book it myself for the ones that would like some small action without having to lay odds on their money, but I'm not confident enough in figuring out the players "power rating" to establish a fair starting line. Anyone have any ideas?

I decided to pass on this one when it was first booked

I decided to pass on this one when it was first booked, after the US Open win I haven't changed my mind.

Despite the sentiment on this forum at the moment Shane is by no means a dead lock to win even without a points spread. Everyone has dwelled on the things that can happen to Earl but I don't see any mention of what can happen to Shane. Too much travel, attention on other things, maybe a little bit ill. I don't know that Shane has ever had an extended battle with someone who has the sheer physical presence that Earl has nor do I know how Shane will react if Earl jumps out to a large early lead.

Especially with the extra confidence he has to be feeling at the moment I think Shane will win however betting a two horse race is always shaky business particularly when it is booked and committed to this far in advance. A thousand and one things can happen so that your horse just doesn't feel like running that day.

Assuming Earl doesn't crash and burn I have a hunch he will win more than seventy games if they both feel like playing. I'm a lot less sure of him winning eighty games but as I have already said, I wouldn't bet on him not winning a hundred games. With all of the changes going on in Earl's life right now he is just too much of a wild card for me.
