I would like to personally introduce the creation of East Coast Pool Tournaments, a brand new Facebook community. The goal of East Coast Pool Tournaments (ECPT) is to unite all the pool players, spectators and Tournament Directors along the entire East Coast from Florida to Maine in hopes of increasing player and spectator turnouts at individual events in addition to encouraging the growth and unification of the sport here on the East Coast.

ECPT will provide scheduled tournament dates, event updates and announcements directly from Pool Tours/Tournament Directors that are part of this community. By gathering the entire East Coast pool community in one place Tournament Directors will have a much easier time getting important and sometimes critical information out to their players and spectators in an instant.

ECPT is NOT meant to replace Tour websites by any means. ECPT will simply be an extension of Tour websites. Tournament information on ECPT will be limited. For more detailed information on a particular event such as format, rules, etc. you will need to visit the individual Tour websites. Links to every Tour website that is part of the community will be provided on our Facebook page.

If you would like to sign-up to the East Coast Pool Tournaments community just follow the link below and simply click on ‘LIKE’. If you are a room owner or tour director who would like to promote your East Coast event then simply type a message on the board requesting to be made an admin. However, if you are not a member of Facebook then you may have to sign-up first and then follow the link below.

Weird! It worked the other day. I think it has something to do with the way Facebook classifies it's links. Anyway, I just updated the link. Thanks for the info.

This is something that is definitely needed. As long as information is kept current, it will be helpful. I was thinking that an iPhone app with calendar and links to phone number, google maps, etc., would also be very useful (hint, hint!). The key is keeping the information updated.

I couldn't agree more. The key to the success of East Coast Pool Tournaments is all dependent on the information kept current and flowing and that is exactly the reason why I put the information predominantly in the hands of the tournament directors.

Since tournament directors are made admins by request then they become stock holders in a sense of East Coast Pool Tournaments. They themselves hold the key to the success of their event. If they honestly and truly want to increase their player turnout as well as spectator turnout then they will want to keep the information flowing on their events by keeping the posts current and up to date.

Also, one other key to the success of this community is promotion, promotion, promotion. Tournament directors must do their best to try and promote this community by spreading the word at their events, on their tour websites and on their own personal Facebook pages. There is no reason why we can't have a majority of the players, spectators and tournament directors on the East Coast become a part of this community.

Rob -- There is an existing tour centered in Connecticut called the East Coast Pool Tour -- ECPT. http://members.cox.net/ecpt/

I don't think it's good that you have taken the same initials and a name so similar. Perhaps you were not aware of that tour.
