Besides Schmelke, where else can you find some of this? I am having trouble finding anything thick enough for cues. Thanks.

EI is pretty much everywhere and pretty cheap.try Cook Woods,Exotic Wood Group,Exotic Woods,Ebay, etc.

Agree with Mason. I just googled East Indian Rosewood turning squares and several regular places came up with 1.5 x 1.5 x 18, like woodworkerssource.net, cuecomponents.com, west penn hardwoods, gilmer, etc. Easy to find stuff (pretty, too). Good luck with it. Make sure to post the final product! I bought some for a cue a while back but never got around to using it.

Besides all that has been mentioned, you can also try Bell Forest products and even Woodcraft if you have a store in your area although it is a bit more expensive and may not be dry enough at woodcraft.

If buying form woodcraft ask them to test the moisture content before purchase. There usualy around 15%..

OK tlcff8, I found you a heck of deal.. Gilmer (again). . .

East Indian Rosewood 1 ? x 1 ? x 20???????.6 pieces/$30.00

http://www.gilmerwood.com/specials2.htm

If $5 each for a 20 inch piece of exotic is not low enough, I don't know what is!

Man, I should get a commission for this! :)

if you are going to Gilmer you should check out their reserve stock of EI.they have some old growth that has been air drying for 20+ years.it cost a little more, nut i bet it is really nice.
