I just googled East Indian Rosewood turning squares and several regular places came up with 1.5 x 1.5 x 18, like woodworkerssource.net, cuecomponents.com, west penn hardwoods, gilmer, etc. Easy to find stuff (pretty, too). Good luck with it. Make sure to post the final product! I bought some for a cue a while back but never got around to using it.
Besides all that has been mentioned, you can also try Bell Forest products and even Woodcraft if you have a store in your area although it is a bit more expensive and may not be dry enough at woodcraft.

if you are going to Gilmer you should check out their reserve stock of EI.they have some old growth that has been air drying for 20+ years.it cost a little more,nut i bet it is really nice.
