I looked at this auction the other day and was reading this where as it says

"Mike Cochran, who has worked with Tim Scruggs making cues for more than 20 years, told me that Scruggs' shop will not make another cue substantially similar to this cue for less than $7,000.00. In March 2005, Tim told me during a face-to-face meeting at the Allen Hopkins Super Billiard Expo in Valley Forge, PA that he will cease making cues sometime in 2006 or 2007, at the latest. "

First of all, you should get a medal for being able to read all that ad copy in those annoying colors. I can't even bear to look at the damn thing.

I believe all of it. The seller is a reputable contact who buys and sells a lot of cues. That's been pretty much the scuttlebutt too.

Do you think that it was pulled for what was said in the auction?

This auction was ended by the seller and not pulled by e-bay.
He may have ended it early because the cue was not going as high as he wanted or he had a cash offer.

I stand corrected "it was ended by the seller" yes it was, thats for sure

but like you said "He may have" but maybe not so.

but maybe he was told by Mr. Scruggs to take it down also!

but maybe again i'm wrong and you are too! so who knows for sure!

prove it

Steven,

The auction and cue is completely legit. We had this cue 3-4 years ago and Tim told us then that to remake it, he would charge $5500+. He's gone up substantially on his pricing since then. Should you wish to know anything else about the cue, PM me and we'd be happy to try to help.

I don't think he's scouring auctions of his cues either but maybe someone informed Mr. Scruggs about it and he asked for it to be removed for his remarks about him retiring in 2 yrs ( who Knows ) I DON"T

someone mentioned above to call him and ask him if it's true or not, again maybe they did call him who knows!

cueaddicts> I believe the auction is legit but for as what the seller was saying I couldn't believe that.

"Tim told me during a face-to-face meeting at the Allen Hopkins Super Billiard Expo in Valley Forge, PA that he will cease making cues sometime in 2006 or 2007, at the latest. "

Thats what I didn't believe!> and now the auction was removed by the seller thats all.

does someone know for sure!

I agree ... anyone who follows Scruggs have heard abou the rumor from grapevine and Duane (another board member) confirmed the story based on his conversation with Tim.

So I also don't get the poster

why is it so important to you?
did you want to buy the cue?
the seller listed his email in the copy - why don't you ask him.

That auction and that particular cue is not important to me at all but his retirement maybe and maybe to others that have his cues!

what was said in the auction is important, IMO

Steven

Like I said in another post it went something like this, I though Tim Scruggs cues were the best at super billiards expo out of all the cuemakers that were there! to show there cues IMO his work was the best.

now maybe I'm saving up to buy a cue from Mr. Scruggs or maybe I'd like to order one now if he's going to retire.

That is important to me and to alot of others that want to buy or save his cues now!

so don't worry yourself to much why you have my answer in front of you

then WHY don't you give tim scruggs a call? or if he is still unavailable mike cochran. i'm sure they would be more than happy to help you decide your course of action. one things for sure though! you're not going to find out by continuing to post on this thread!

Hi-Iconcue, when I went to the expo I only took out as much as I could have out of my ATM at the time and didn't have enough with me to buy a cue but I was going to make a purchase from Mr. Scruggs but I put it off and then when I got back I waited and then I thought maybe I'd buy that cue MOTTEY on ebay and then I felt it was some shell bidding going on with it and I took a bid retraction from it and I waited and fell a little bit behind with the cash and i'm saving again to get me a scruggs cue, so i'll have to wait till I get up the right amount where I'll be able to talk to him cash in hand, maybe at the expo,

Do you remember that Mottey cue? I do >

so that this doesn't go any further i'll stop asking and i'm sure someone will post it soon ( the answer )

Steven, it's not that hard for me to believe......since Tim told me face-to-face at the 2005 Derby City Classic that he'd maybe making cues for 1-2 more years max. If still in doubt, call Tim or Mike and ask for yourself. Sean

how could i forget the mottey cue? you accused me of being the seller and making shill bids. neither of which was true - but you don't really seem interested in the truth.
i guess a phone call to the source would be too difficult.
i'm sure like you said you will get the definitive answer on this forum. just don't hold your breath!

SEE THE TRUTH COMES OUT WITH> ICONCUE< it's not at all about my question in this thread but it's revenge on that mottey cue. :) I new it.
